>> Clear light copper to golden pour. Webby lace. Taste is quite good: bitter and nutty and full bodied, but silky and soft palate with excellent mouthfeel. Biting, long bitter finish. A tad soapy and very spicy. Aggressive and dense old school type of high IBU copper IPA. Nose is sweaty, coconut, cake, juicy plum and peach, gamey honey. Thoroughly enjoyed though quite spicy and aggressive. Not a chuggable refreshing buoyant type of hop bomb. Typically I don’t like these. Main flaw is that it is a tad soapy and has a heavy, dense in the stomach body.
Tap at Library Alehouse in Santa Monica, super awesome strong ipa, hoppy, piney, citrus DuffMan (10609) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 25, 2012
On tap @ the brewpub-- just tapped! Yeah! Slightly hazy bright yellow gold, thickly lacing head. Crazy pungent hoppy aroma! Tons of guava, passionfruit, crushed nettles. Assertive bitterness. Juicy, oily hoppy body. So crazy good! I preferred this wet hop ale over the guest tap by Ballast Point (by a long shot!).
