on tap at PP Carlsbad on 7/3/11. orange pour with a 1/4" white head. Belgian yeast nose with nice fruit esters (banana), spice notes and big floral / citrus hops. bitter medium body with sugar, banana, bubblegum and citrus notes. sweet fruit / citrus finish with lingering bitterness. brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 1, 2011
A: The beer pours a clear golden with a big white head.
S: An intense banana aroma along with plenty of spices, particularly clove. There is a substantial bready malt character along with a moderate sweetness. A hint of pear and yeast on the back end.
T: Starts off with sweet fruits such as apple and pear. Tons of banana and toffee flavors. Lots of clove and spice notes, too. A fair bit of yeast flavor. Overall, a very nice flavor.
M: The body is light to medium with a medium carbonation.
O: Just a top notch beer. I really enjoyed this one. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUN 1, 2011
draft at Pizza Ports tap takeover at Haymarkets, Chicago. Surprised that this was an IPA. I thought it was a Blegian Ale or even a saison. Herbal, spiced, citrus zest, lots of Belgian yeastiness, coriander, flavor is similar to Sofie. Didnt seem 8.2 like it stated. Little bitterness. only beer i asked for 2 4oz. Good but an IPA?? badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - JUL 6, 2011

Floral saison that’s a little sweet, refreshing and with medium body. Large white head and lacing. Very tasty, decent example of a saison. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 15, 2011
Served on tap at Port OB. The appearance is a nice gold hue with some reddish undertones. The flavors and aromas are sweet bread notes, crisp lemon influenced hops, and some light baking spices at times. The mouth is a touch thick from the yeast with the lemon notes making it a touch crisper. A solid Belgium IPA. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 2, 2011
Draft at Haymarket. Pours an orangey gold, slightly hazy with a sticky white head. The nose is strongly Belgian, very estery, with come floral hops. Also some lemony notes as well. Quite fresh and bright, very nice. On taste, has a very soft Belgian palate with candi coming through. Not an IPA at all. Pretty one dimensional hoppy Belgian beer. Not really my bag. Draft at carlsbad PP. Clear gold, with orange hue and a small creamy white head. Aroma of fruit, banana, flowers, slight hops. Flavor is similar, but sweeter, banana, light yeast, bubble gum, and lightly hop. After trying, it really should be entered as a Belgian ale, not IPA. On tap @ Pizza Port Ocean Beach: Poured a glowing yellow that was a hazy and completely opaque while a gentle pillow of soft head rested on top. In the aroma, a full nose of fruity yeast dominates and suggests a touch of spice such as ginger or clove. Really has a pleasant smell that’s similar to a German hefeweizen. The flavor is heavily spiced with such flavors of ginger, cloves, pepper, lemon zest, and a spruce of pine. Finish is soapy with a bit of a metallic bite in the end.
