On tap at obriens. Black pour with forever brown head. Nose is rich sweet roasted malt with hints of dark fruit. Taste is big complex goodness. Lotsa stuff going on. Shoulda tried this one before BA Night Rider. Sweet dark fruit up front to smooth maltiness. Big fuzzy mouthfeel. Tart sweetness hiding and hints of alcohol medicine. In a good way. Coffe and oats as it warms with a cool finish. Interesting.

On tap @ Toronado SD: Poured a dark opaque liquid with a small development of foam for a head. The aroma smells similar to rich barley wine with the heavy notes of raisin/fig, and cigar. The flavor is a rich base of sweet sugary malts that give off a taste of syrup and dark dried fruits such as plum, raisin, prune while a touch of earthy wood in the finish.

Tiny 6oz at best pour at Toronado SD--now we’re talking NYC pours! Brown w/small beige head, fair retention. Big sweet barrelled nose full of lovely oxidation smells a bit like Angel’s Share, adding a bit of roast. Flavor follows suit, dark fruits and brown sugary notes that are complemented by the drying booze and barrels, hops are nonexistent. Vanilla and a tinge of coconut in the dry finish with some alcohol, bitterness peaked at a 2-3. Some chocolate notes lingered. Low to mod carb with a full body. Quite good.

On tap at Toronado. Black with a creamy tan head. Sweet yet musty wet hay grain chocolate and bourbon aroma. Very nice raisin fig grape red wine toasted coconut and bourbon taste with a chocolate liquor finish. Thick buttery palate. Excellent.

Pours a murky amber color with a fairly big tan head. Caramel, toffee, and chocolate are all present on the nose. There is a touch of old hop character as well as some notes of vanilla and oak. A decent fruitiness on the palate. Some oak and mild vanilla to go with the malt notes of chocolate, toffee, and caramel. Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
