On tap at the brewpub in San Clemente. Pours a very hazy, darker orange body with a small, fluffy white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of soft lacing. Very full and sweet aroma of wheat, bananas, bubble gum, zesty lemons and oranges, and yeast. Lots of spices too giving it even more of a zing. Flavor is similar. Lots of banana and spices with a zesty citrus. Finishes malty, but spicy at the same time. Full bodied, creamy, and very smooth before a subtle dry finish. Overall, a very impressive wheat. Quite tasty. Eyedrinkale (3235) - Astoria, New York, USA - FEB 7, 2004
Light yellow "unfiltered?". This was clearer than most filtered beers I have seen. Full wheat aroma with decent lacing throughout. Hint of banana with a quite yeasty finish. DarkElf (3067) - La Jolla, California, USA - OCT 11, 2004
(Draft: Pizza Port in San Clemente, CA) This is a beer for the patrons who don’t like the taste of beer; The flavor is very light, thin, and extremely watery; Lightly spicy, very little sweetness, damn, there’s just nothing here to talk about; I can’t pan the flavor because it’s so light and inoffensive, you can’t say it tastes bad; The nose is citrusy, sour and spicy with a slight bubblegum; Very pale yellow color and fairly hazy, but this looks like watery lemonade; White head is small on the pour and fades to a small rim quickly [NOTE: The beer menu lists both a T-Street Wheat (Bavarian/American) and a T-Street Hefeweizen (Bavarian). The bartender said they’re both the same beer, but the descriptions are different, so we might be combining ratings for two different beers with this single Ratebeer entry...] JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - AUG 2, 2003
This brew is listed as an unfiltered wheat, but it poured clear yellow. When I asked the bartender about it, he said that the beer was brewed before the place opened & since it took a bit longer to open than planned, all the yeast settled to the bottom. It has a nice banana nose and a clean, crisp flavor austinpowers (2831) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 31, 2003
If this is unfiltered, I'm Samuel Adams. This beer poured as clear as a Mountain Dew. Whatever. Not that yeasty, though I'd say it's part German hefe and part American Wheat based on the taste. Fairly flavorful, but I'm still miffed it's a Kristal wheat.
