On cask at the Carlsbad location. Pours a creamy dark black color with some ruby hues and a frothy head of tan foam. Aromas of lightly roasted coffee and unsweetened cocoa drift from the glass. A whiff of vanilla lingers as well. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Fairly rich, creamy chocolate flavors - a bit on the dark side and with a pleasant fruity character that seperates this one a bit from an otherwise typical rendetion of a creamy stout. On draft at Pizza Port (Carlsbad). The aroma had nice coffee, roast, dark fruit, light smoke, and hints of caramel. The beer poured an opaque color with thick lasting head and lacing. The flavor had coffee, roast, smoke, dark fruit, and an almost burnt taste. The mouthfeel was full bodied, well rounded, and creamy. Oh, by the way, it was on nitro. Dark brown nearing black body with almost no head. Oaky, smokey aroma. Dark roast coffee flavour with nice fruitiness at the front with a nice bitter finish.

Dark black/brown color, tan head and lots of lacing. The nose is full and robust with licorice, roasted malt and chocolate. Light vanilla and moderate astringency. Very little hops and no alcohol flavor. More roasty than chocolatey with a lot of coffee essence. Nice stout, full body and creamy mouthfeel. Lots of flavor.
(Nitro Draft: Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA) and (Nitro Draft: Pizza Port in Solana Beach, CA) This is your basic dry stout on nitrogen. Deep, ruddy brown in color, some dark ruby highlights at the edges. Creamy, slowly-forming, light tan head only pours to a ¼" in height but shows excellent retention. Aromas of dry roastiness and a slight sourness. The flavor is dry, roasty, ashy and bitter with a slight sourness and a nice hop burp. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, and very dry on the palate. By the time I’ve finished this pint, a full set of dense rings of lace decorates the glass from top to bottom. Draft at Solana, early Dec 05. Opaque black with deep red hints. Light roasty aroma. Similar light roasty, light chocolate. Starts a touch sweet and then finishes more dry.
