On tap at Pizza Port, Carlsbad. Pours beautifully. Very nice aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Silky light bodied palate. Taste of roasted malts dominates with hints of smokiness and chocolate in the background. A really good stout. ChillCoat (1029) - Concord, California, USA - OCT 1, 2006
Draft at Liars. Takes forever to pour. Black with a light tan head that stands stiff above the glass. Chocolate aroma. slightly sweet chocolate coffee flavor. Medium bodied.

This is a review for the Port Truck with coconut and rum soaked oak chips on cask at Pizza Port. The pour is a very dark brown with a small head and some just ok lacing. The smell is terrific. Toasted coconut, bread, coffeee, some vanilla. The taste is fantastic too. It has a great toasted malt, coffee, and toasted coconut flavor. Very well balanced and almost crisp tasting. I could even imagine myself drinking it on a hot day in the sun! Mouthfeel was silky and smooth and the finish was slightly bitter with a tinge of sweet. Kudos to the Pizza Port guys on this one!! bsierra (213) - Vista, California, USA - JUL 26, 2008
On tap at Churchill’s Pub and Grill. Pours a deep dark brown hue with a thick creamy tan head. Nose is rich with toasted malt and chocolate. Taste is warm with bits of coffee, chocolate, and malt balanced nicely with subtle hops and hints of caramel. Finish is smooth and has a bit of lingering toastiness. This is a great beer for food pairing and could easily be followed by 2 or 3 more pints, after the first!

And so i finally am able to try yet another fine brew from tha port. This one was on nitro at liars club. I dont dig nitro, it makes it way too foamy. This had a nice thick chocolate vibe to it, kinda like hot chocolate. Not too bold or over stated, just quite nice and subtle.
This had a nice head.Aroma was a roasty,coffee,chocolate.Color a nice black.This had a roasted chocolate coffee flavor.Sticky finish.Very nice.A tad shy on the body. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 16, 2008
On-tap PP Carlsbad. Terrific beer. Subdued nose of toasty malts. Pours dark brown/black with a thick creamy light brown head. Laces the entire glass all the way down. Tastes malty, with a hint of toastiness and chocolate. Somewhat watery but super smooth and silky. Low alcohol, great taste, great look, yum. On tap @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad. This batch listed as 4.25% ABV. Very dark, near-black with copper highlights. Aroma of coffee and chocolate and wood. Bitter coffee and burnt toffee with an austere rye-whiskey note in the very dry finish. Low sweetness-- excellent! daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 8, 2011
Dark brown pour, tan head. Roasty, dry, nutty, light cocoa aroma. Flavor is creamy, dry, light chocolate notes. Good stuff. Smooth.
