Tap @ Carlsbad. Not my favorite style but....... Pours a deep coffee brown with a small off white / beige head. Coffee grounds, bitter sweet cocoa and roasted malts in the nose, much of the same in the flavor. Nice and dry in the finish, very true to style. bergstaden (2925) - Røros, NORWAY - APR 23, 2015

Nitro at OB. Black, ruby edges, light beige nitro head. Nose is bakers chocolate and clean roast--not burnt at all--light toasted grain. Flavor is mainly toasty and roasty, does turn a bit burnt by the bone dry finish. No sweetness, bitterness peaked at a 3ish. Scant carbonation with a light to medium body. My least favorite stout from them, but not bad at all. SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - JUN 26, 2011
My first beer from PPOB and a very good first impression, not that I ever doubted PP would open another less-than-stellar brewery. Very well balanced and smooth dark coffee and chocolate malt flavor with a light and creamy body and dry finish. Tons of great malt character here, in a ridiculously drinkable package. This is a style that a lot of brewpubs don’t do very well on and end up putting out thin, bland Guinness clones. This crushes Guinness like no one’s business. skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2015
Pour black with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee, molasses, sweet malts, caramel, coco, and some earthy hops. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi-creamy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter, semi dry, medium-long finish. Overall, a pretty nice dry stout that is drinkable and looks nice.

Served on nitro at Port OB. The appearance is a beautiful jet black with a thick creamy tan head that last and laces to the bottom. The aromas are light roasted coffee, and a lot of grains to the nose as well. The flavors are similar to the nose.Very mild intensity with dry roasted grain, small coffee notes, a bit of a sourness late in the glass. The mouth is wonderfully creamy and smooth. A wonderfully brewed beer with a light session-able ABV. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 9, 2010
Pours dark brown black with a big, creamy, resilient, offwhite head and sticky sheet lace. Smells eh, dishwater and lightly roasty. Tastes lightly roasty and sweet, dishwater, watery, eh. Light, watery body, smooth carbonation. Lagunitasfan (1323) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 9, 2011
On tap at Urge in RB/Poway. I coulda sworn it said "Dude" Where’s... Black with light off-white head. Solid and thick. Oaty and milky and sweet. Light and even fruity for a stout. I’m likin’ me some o’ this dry stout.
