Editors note: previously brewed at Nstvedbryggeriet Fniks.

Danish: Kakerlakpuler fra Pladderballe Bryghus er en dejlig kraftig og fyldig stout. Her er ikke sparet p den hrdt ristede malt der giver den sorte farve og kaffenoter. Her er ogs anvendt caramel-malt. Kombinationen giver noter af karamel/lakrids. llen er hndbrygget p gammeldaws maner. Den er ufiltreret, upasteuriseret og er eftergret p flasken. Der vil derfor forekomme bundfald.

Bottle. 5.5%. Best before 03.03.17. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown with a tan head. Good lacing. Sweetish, malty aroma with a hop note in the background. Metallic overtone as it warms. Further warming brings out light notes of bread and wood. Flavour is sweet and malty with a spicy touch. Light sweet liquorice note. Light molasses as it warms. Feels a wee bit watery. Same finish, mildly bitter. A bit too much carbonation. 24.08.16.

50 cl bottle poured in to a Snifter. Pitch black with a thin, lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark malts, chocolate, coffee and caramel malts. Some cookies. Taste is lightly bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with dark malts, liquorice and roasted notes. Pretty straightforward Porter, nice and uncomplicated.

Backlog. Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 31.03.13. Dark brown to black. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and prune compote. Taste of dark chocolate with some coffe. Coffee and moderate bitterness lingering on in long aftertaste. Appropriately low carbonation. High drinkability.

Foam is obviously very rich and beautiful. The taste is nice malty and has good filling of licorice. Slightly dominate towards the end and its a lovely rich porter which I certainly like to taste again.

Big brown head. Nearly opaque black body goes deep dark red at bottom. Spicy chocolatey earthy aroma with roasty mealy notes. Sweetish roasty chocolate pudding taste with spicy earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish chocolate pudding and earth aftertaste with fruity wild berry notes. Nice, drinkable, harmonic, and vivid. Put off drinking this because of the name, but it turns out to be a really good beer. (0.5l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

500 ml bottle, sampled almost one year after expiration date, with no signs of miss flavors. Practically black body with a medium sized, lacing tan head. Aroma is dark malt, liquorice and coffee. Flavor is smooth dark, medium roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, some dark fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and pleasant aftertaste. Very smooth this one, the storage might have an impact here. Easy to drink and surprisingly nice actually, could wish for some more body here but otherwise a very nice one for this relativlly low ABV.
