(Bottle). Sour aroma of roasted caramel malt. Sour and watery taste of roasted malt and caramel. Not good! Stefano (2048) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 21, 2016 Brown coloured beer with a beige creamy head. Aroma is roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is sweet with some dark roasted malt and caramel. Medium palate. Palme (4857) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 13, 2013
0.5l bottlle shared with The Tasting Crew. It’s a gusher, and a massive massive one! The foam is enormous fluffy, kinda dirty miscolored brown and a bit all over the place top. Oh! It really rides through your nose this! Stinks of bakers yeast! Smells exactly like my mothers dough mic before adding the flour. As I push my nose down in the glass I get some traces of both chocolate, fresh banana and licorice-leather. It grow on you, but holding the glass a bin on a distance the bakers yeast brings back old memories. It’s above average on the carbonation and light fizzy-oily on the mouthfeel. Nice roasted flavors. Some chocolate and leather. It’s leaving a mouthdrying feeling in the mouth - much the same you get when you eat fresh green bananas. It’s actually quite pleasant this. Did not expect it to taste as good as it actually did when we opened the bottle. Highly enjoyable in a nostalgic way. 09.01.2013 rockonbeerblog (15) - DENMARK - FEB 6, 2013
I am having a hard time finding anything positive to say. Aroma is metallic which also carries over to the taste. The beer is a bit too bitter overal and is difficult to pick out any nice flavors. Not a fan BrianWillum (241) - Præstø, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2013
Sweet aroma with hints of malt, sweet taste - maybe a bit metallic. Quite boring. Red-brown coloured beer with medium head, disappears fast.

Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew. Deep brown body, massive over-carbonated beige head. Aroma is sour-ish stomach acid-like baker’s yeast tones and hints of unripe bananas. Infected? Taste is licorice, roasted bread, chocolate and hints of grains. OK, and probably not infected after all. A bit fizzy on the palate though, so something’s definitely not quite right there. Exploding bottle, gushes out of bottle producing immense amounts of foam. aroma is full of burnt malts and some weird acidic twang. taste is also very roasty with some sourish notes. medium body and high carbonation. KoNrRiI (1714) - Århus, DENMARK - OCT 31, 2012
0.5 bottle. Extremely dark brown mixed with reddish tinge, incredibly hazy with a nice, big, tanned head. Aroma of roasted malts, some caramel and a slight scent of prunes. Moderately sweet taste, very malty with uncanny resemblance to delicate coffee. Medium body, creamy slightly thick texture and a soft carbonation. Finish is rather long and brings out yet another, this time stronger portion of delicate coffee taste. Actually the only thing that impairs the palate is a peculiar wateriness. All in all it is a fine brew, not exceptional but enjoyable and quite straightforward. trapez (1563) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - OCT 8, 2012
Bottle. Aroma of plums, prunes and malt. Clear deep red colour with light brown head. Sweet flavour of ripe fruits with some caramel and malt. Not a typical brown ale, but what would you expect from kalapøjser.
