The smell is pleasant caramelized with touches of slightly anise. The taste is like a nice experimental Christmas beer. It is anise, cinnamon, good caramel notes and a nice hoppy bitterness to follow. OK ... it’s certainly not the most exciting Christmas beer on the market, but reasonable and drinkable. Smells sweet and spicy. Pours hazy amber with a white head. The taste is spicy of anise and sweet of malt. MotherBrother (945) - Aalborg, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2015
Rated from backlog.
Pour a cleat mahogany brown, with a small white head.
Aroma of nuts, toast, slight christmas spices, bread. Quite malty indeed, with notes of some old hops.
Taste is slightly sweet up front, with plenty of bitter aftertaste. Watery body, with a semi fizzy carbonation. argento (203) - DENMARK - APR 29, 2015
karamelfarven er der i glasset.. juleøl hmm... lækker smag af karamel, let engelsk lakrids smag, men vel nok anisén.. go sokkeøl.... i aften sammen med burgere...ok... KoNrRiI (1512) - Århus, DENMARK - MAR 3, 2015
0.5 bottle. Minutely hazy, dark, amber color and a medium, off-white head. Aroma of licorice, fennel, a tad of molasses, delicate marzipan, and some cough drops. Taste is full of molasses, fennel, and some anise. Medium body, slick texture, and average carbonation. Finish is even stronger but it generally reiterates the same flavors as before. Overall the beer is certainly unusual though I cannot call it especially tasty.

Helt igennem fantastisk juleøl. Køb køb køb. Hvis altså man er til stjerneanis-smag. Den er nemlig vildt gennemtrængende. Hold nu op en lækker juleøl :-) Cunningham (7969) - Halden, NORWAY - MAR 1, 2015
Lovely amber color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Toffee, fennel and some spices in the aroma. Medium body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Toffee, some spices and unusual rich fennel in the flavor as well. Decent and unusual ale.DraftDodger (1521) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2015

Copenhagen 8/2 2015. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Pours hazy gold with white head. Gradually subsiding. Aroma is sweet and a bit cloying. Medium carbornation. Taste is very very sweet. Too sweet! Combined with a grapelike bitter aftertaste. Not on my shoppinglist in the future.

A nut-brown, unfiltered X-Mas Pilsner with creamy head. Aroma is liqourice, fresh, malty, caramel. Taste is light bitter and sweet. Pearly. Don't like. Pinball (12148) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2014
50cl bottle from fakta spinderiet. fantastic name. clear brown, smooth offwhite head.nuts, sweet malts, perfumey marcipan, anise in the slightly strange aroma. flavor is anise, malts, faint herbal note. composition is not up to my expectations from svaneke or pladderballe, taste is too much anise, even though there is not that much of it. thingsjust doesn’t fit well together flavor wise. Technically the beer is good, tastes and feel like beer brewed with dedication.
