Cask; ruby brown, moderate white head; aroma of caramel, lightly toasted malts; taste is also malty, slightly sweet, light toast; smooth mouthfeel; dark berries and a little twiggy; reminded me initially of ryvita cracker bread; chocolate notes came to the fore later in the drink and in the moderate bitter finish; likeable. Cask at the Cleveland Arms - Bayswater, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, white head. Pleasant brown bread aroma with touches of toasted leaves. Light to medium sweet flavor with good, bouncy bready malts, light toast, brown sugar, faint berries, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; great condition. Balanced finish with more citrusy now but underscored by fundamental, brown bread malts. A very drinkable bitter. leaparsons (10499) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2014
