Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 18/03/10. Copper coloured with a decent, lacy white head. Aroma of biscuit malts, damsons and a touch of caramel sweetness. Cask at the Cleveland Arms - Bayswater, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, white head. Pleasant brown bread aroma with touches of toasted leaves. Light to medium sweet flavor with good, bouncy bready malts, light toast, brown sugar, faint berries, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; great condition. Cask at The Market Porter. Pours ruddy copper with a creamy white head. Aroma is spicy/malty. Flavor is spicy, light roast malt and something like woody. Ends like paper/woody/spicy and strangely this is not a bad thing. Is is quite off the common way. After a long, long time, a hint of mint. Cask at Prince of Wales, Farnborough. Sour malty aroma. Ruby chestnut. Deducting a point - whilst the beige head is pretty healthy, it’s pretty blotchy. Sweet. Soft. Saccharine finish. Sugar. Berries. Not too much going on but easy drinking. Was expecting more bitterness but a nice surprise.

Cask; ruby brown, moderate white head; aroma of caramel, lightly toasted malts; taste is also malty, slightly sweet, light toast; smooth mouthfeel; dark berries and a little twiggy; reminded me initially of ryvita cracker bread; chocolate notes came to the fore later in the drink and in the moderate bitter finish; likeable. Cask handpull, PoW, Hinckley, 30/08/14. Ruby with a narrow but intricately lacing cream foam. Good chocolate, vinous-hinting soft lactic flavour; stillish condition, nose juicy red berry, blueberry, faint ganja and satsuma. Quite a sniffer.
