4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
So far, the best beer Plank Town has to offer. Three more beers are coming soon, so get ready!
Draft. Aroma of leather. Fizzy on the tongue. Flavors of mocha and wood. The smoke curls around the tongue and lingers. Too much fizz, otherwise excellent. Theydon_Bois (19506) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2014
Keg at the taproom, 10/11/14.
Light black with a decent tan swirl and edgework.
Nose is dark malts, toffee, light roast, charr.
Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, dark malt, light smoke, chocolate.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with sweet notes.
Passable porter - Have they changed the recipe so drastically since the people before me rated it ???!!! ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Draft at 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours very dark, little to no tan head. Aroma rich and interesting, roasted notes, chocolate, smoke, earthiness, sumptuous! Body thin in classic English style, but smoked malt lingers. Awesome flavor, just very solid. Dansrc51 (46) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUN 23, 2013
Aroma: nice for the beer, a little creative and interesting
Appearance: very nice dark like black coffee.
Taste: very nice flavors of coffee, roasts toasty and a light smoke
Palate: the smoke is a little lingering but otherwise nice
Very solid beer for a new brewery
Leave your pretensions at the door. SnoopDoug (22) - Oregon, USA - JUN 23, 2013
This is Plank Town's best. This Porter is solid and slightly smoky which is how I like em.
