Cool Hobbit inspired beer. It is definitely very strong. Old fashioned is what they were going for, and they succeed.
22oz bottle thanks to Adam. Pours out a dark brown topped with a sand head. nose is big malts some pit fruit sweetness and a little barrel. taste is more of the heavy malts some fruit notes. . mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 26, 2015
On tap at PIB 2015, pours a hazy bronze with a small white head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, toffee and light dark fruits. Flavour is big and heavy, with dark fruits, bourbon barrels, and English yeast. Huge beer, with lots going on. Well-balanced. Very nice. douglas88 (9049) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 20, 2014
You had me at hobbit. Pours reddish amber color with a small white head. A light leafy nose, some caramel. An unusual approach to a old ale, more of a dusty amber, sweet toffee, a bit of fruit, malt forward, maybe some woody or paper flavors. Solid beer. BeerTrek (11) - - MAY 23, 2014
Draft at Bailey’s Taproom. Tastes like drinking Southern Comfort out of an old shoe.
