Really well balanced, complex and enjoyable imperial stout! The best Finnish beer this far for sure and superb beer internationally too.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2014 Bottle [thanks to tiong] shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes, Ansjelaah and Martinus @ weekly tasting. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized beige to slightly light brown head that leaves fair lacing and lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, hops, even a touch of fruits, only slightly roasty. Taste malts, light to moderately roasty, superb bitterness, hops. Damn, this is a very nice beer!

Bottle @benzai. Pitch black with a small light brown head. Smells hops, dark chocolate, roasty, coffee, green twigs, great. Tastes coffee, roasty, hops, some pine even, sone chocolate. This should be a black ipa. Medium to full body, soft carbo.

Mild chocolate aroma with some roastiness. Very beautiful head. Taste starts with malt and has some vanilla, chocolate and hoppiness. The aftertaste is very challenging and versatile. Excellent beer with many nuances.

A: Pitch black with small yellow head. S: Coffee, alcohol, smoke. T: Liquorice that gets into strong smoky taste with bitterness and a pure bitter aftertaste. M: Not that thick for the style. O: Nice and heavy.

I have to say the expectations for this one was quite different from reality. This beer is more of a black IPA than imperial stout. Anyways, clear black with decent long lasting head. Confusing aroma for me (preconceptions) but with roasted/caramel malts and new world hops in perfect balance. The taste is far better than most of the black IPAs I’ve tasted, very balanced. I like this beer a lot! Not surprising it is nr 1 in Finland. Impressive though better classified as a black IPA.

Bottle, gift from rosenbergh (my SecretSanta). Pours black color, with huge dark beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and some coffee. Taste starts medium sweet, but ends very bitter, really nice change. Taste is coffee, hoppy, dark chocolate, some hints of citrus. Nice one...

LoFi (1748) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 29, 2013
Sampled bottle at Porterfestivalen 2013. Black with a light brown head. Aroma: roasted, coffee, hoppy, light metallic. Taste: very bitter, pine and grapefruit, coffee, roasted, resin, salmiak, chili. Medium-bodied. Grew on me after a while into a nice hoppy and bitter stout, but to begin with, I thought it was too much.
