Too much grapefruit in this beer. Pull sourness down a bit and then we are talking.

Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is black with small brownish head. Aromas and flavours are chocolate, coffee, malts, bread and hops. Just a perfect palate. Unbelievable casual beer, just so easy to drink.

On Draught, Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Black looks with a small brown head. Nose was full of hoppy goodness alongside notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour duly followed suit and struck a superb balance between the malt and hops. Smooth ,rich and just stonkingly good. An absolute belter of an impy that is up there with the best of them, and worthily celebrates a great bar. Finlands finest foshizzle.

I had a fun night with the dear Siperian Stout. Extremely strong chocolate flavour and smooth after taste. I would say that the smoothnes was something between Speedway and Yeti stout (smoothest stuff around:) Hint of caramel and nice roasted taste (the next day). I have to rank this as the best Finnish beer I have ever tasted (there with the yeti stout). Big up for plevna.

On tap at Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Dark brown/black pour with a caramel head. Sweet chocolate aromas. Smooth and creamy with mellow roasted malt notes and some bitterness from the huge hop bill. Typically I do not like hoppy imperial stouts, but this has fantastic balance. Good body and carbonation. Overall a very nice imperial stout.

Very nice black beer with a strong and lasting caramel-colored head. Strong and complex hoppy aroma, with nuances of caramel and dark malt. The taste is very well balanced, with a smooth caramel-malty start and a soft hop bitterness in the finish.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2015 Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours black with a medium-sized beige head that lasts long. The aroma features a delightful combination of roasty malt elements such as dark chocolate, coffee and licorice and assertive piney hoppiness. Taste is dryish and very roasty with strong espresso and dark chocolate forming the basis and piney hoppiness building on that. Also some licorice, tar and rye pudding appear. The finish is long and medium to heavily bitter with some fruity notes adding a fresh touch. The palate is full bodied with low carbonation and a bit sticky mouthfeel - this is meant to be enjoyed slowly. The character of this beer astounds every time: it is full, rich and varied both in malts and hops. Simply magnificient.

Had on tap at Pikkulinto, from notes. Pour is jet black with smaller bubbles and a creamy tan head. The nose is nice, roasted malt up front, light coffee with some fleshy orange citrus and light bitterness. Taste is much of the same, well balanced with nice roasted malts and light milky chocolate and coffee notes. The hops are light, citrusy with moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium body and very smooth and creamy with assertive carbonation and clean finish.

Medium strong aroma has sweet malt: licorice, coffee, chocolate. Black, expresso head leaves lacing. Velvety soft, medium body, soft carbonation, sweet and bitter. Excellent, highly recommended.
