Draught. Black colour, brown big head. Roasted malts, toffee, hops and some hayish notes in aroma. Roasted malt, hayish hops and alcohol in flavour. Feels a bit unbalanced as for the sweetness which is there all the way through. Kind of cuts in in a bad way with the hops. Travlr (25876) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 23, 2011
Bottle at Pikkulintu. Black color, brown head. Aroma of Starbucks. Taste has dark cocoa powder and espresso left on the burner too long. Nice. cgarvieuk (25742) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 14, 2007
Cask GBBF ... Deep solid black ... roast malts little iodine ... sweet full flavour ... smooth roast malts ... little iodine and an odd something. omhper (25568) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 7, 2006
[Draught at GBBF] Pitch black, no head. Salty licorice and tar simmers on a soft but firm compact maltiness. Packed with flavour, but not assaulting. Vicely bitter, salty finish. The softness and blance makes it one of the best imperial stouts anywhere. madmitch76 (25382) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2014
