Bottle, December 2017. Dry wood / old furniture, dark chocolate / cocoa, light nuts. Medium body, chocolate liqueur, sweet / bitter. A tad too high carbonation but still very tasty. migwell (369) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 19, 2018
Well, it seems that our recently installed masters of the AB/InBev disruption (of the craft brewing) universe are anxious to have access to my email address before I click in to any Forums. I do believe I have the right to express my opinions about their take over of this site and their manipulation of the scoring process. F-ck them. I cannot access the forums without capitulating. This site is so amazingly compromised as to make Trump's Russia connections look tame. Or not.
In any event, in order to continue to track my craft beer appreciation, I find that I must post the occasional review here. So Pothole Voodoo, or whatever the Finns call it. Cripes, there are so many Baltic Porters these days... this is a quite good and authentic one. Well worth a try! The_Osprey (9912) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 18, 2018
February 2018 - Tasting on L42, One Canada Square. Thanks to Kenny for the bottle and Mr Tips for help with pronunciation. As 'Põhjala Jõuluöö'. Opaque black with a foamy brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate liqueur, earthy, little barnyard phenol but not too distracting. Body is smooth with soft to tingly carbonation. Taste is earthy chocolate, grainy dark chocolate, quite metallic, liqueur and molasses sweetness versus a dry ashy metallic vibe. Quite good. An interesting and flavorful porter with nice cacao, vanilla and oak notes but that might be a btit thin for the style and with an ashy flavor that I'm not particularly fond of.

Deep black pour with a lasting creamy dark brown lace. Gorgeous aroma - soft oak, tarry coffee and cocoa with a bit of heavy espresso roastiness. There's a bit of rich vanilla and a little bit of earthiness as well. Lots of richness, cocoa and a bit of sweet fruit. Some sticky notes with a fairly pronounced vanilla aroma. There's a fairly pronounced bitterness in this one as well as an unusual sort of woody flavour that I can't quite put my finger on. Some earthiness and a bit of richness as well. There's a touch of cocoa and woodiness. Pretty nice beer, really.

Cola brown with a thin, brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, charcoal, and toffee. Taste is vanilla extract and tonnes of roasted malt. Oily and boozy. Somewhat one-dimensional. L_Lovecraft (783) - - FEB 14, 2018
Cacao, some oak notes, chocolate and dark fruits, dark brown with a good tan head, medium body, not too creamy, taste is similar but a bit confused with a heavy sweetness...not bad at all. mR_fr0g (14241) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2018
