Taste: sour notes of black malt, cocoa, dark chocolate and ash notes at finish (too much).

Tap in Hops beer bar Budapest. Deep dark colour with stable head off. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, nuts. Taste of chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla nephirem (684) - CROATIA - JAN 28, 2018
Bottle, 0.33l. Thick black pour, one finger creamy beige head. Medium retention, thick lacing. Wonderful nose, coffee, cocoa and dark fruits. Hint of vanilla. Rich and intense, this is shaping up to be damn fine brew.
Medium body, very soft carbonation. Thick texture, oily and creamy. Smooth on the palate. Roasty bittersweet taste, rich and robust aroma. Caramel malts, coffee, cocoa. Vanilla. Raisins. Forest fruits. Oats. Nicely warming boozy mouthfeel. Hop bitterness later on. Medium lasting finish, boozy and slightly dry.
Overall, this one delivers. Robust, complex and tasty. Damn fine brew. RobBestwick (991) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 28, 2018
Bottle. Rich chocolate and coffee aroma. Classic dark porter appearance with mid-sized brown head. Sweet chocolate flavour with roasted coffee notes. Creamy texture. Long sweet finish. The_Osprey (9937) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2018
Jan 2018 - 330ml bottle at home in Richmond as 'Põhjala Must Kuld', 7.8%, BB Mar 2019. Has what appears to be a vulva-shaped cocoa fruit on the front, leading me to think there's cocoa in this - but there's not. It's just gratuitous cocoa vulva. This beer pours opaque black, fizzy with no head which spoils the appearance. Aroma is After Eights mints, fruit n nut chocolate, demerara. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Thin bodied and too fizzy. Taste is quite rich but spoiled by the thin body, lots of sugary coffee, earthy roast malts, astringent, some 80% dark chocolate. On the whole, this is a disappointment. In all fairness it improved over time as the carbonation subsided, and I think there's a good beer in there somewhere, but what's in front of me is just mediocre. UPDATED: JAN 11, 2018 Donker bier met licht bruine schuimkraag, smaak chocolade, koffie, bitterzoet. Bittere smaak blijft lang hangen, te bitter voor mij.
