33cl @ Tap House, 2016. Tons of raisins and plums. Also tons of alcohol in both taste and aroma. A bit of dark bread and wood. Sweet, but very heavy.

Barwa ciemnobursztynowa z burgundowymi refleksami. Aromat: suszone owoce, kandyzowane owoce, rodzynki, śliwki, ciasto. W smaku podobnie plus akcenty winne/owocowe. Dość słodkie. Najlepsze BW jakie piłem.

Pours dark amber, almost brown with a minimal beige head. Aroma is toasted with some clear toffee hints, candied sugar, dried fruits, plums, raisins... Hint of licorice as well. Interesting. Flavor is sweet, malty and toasty. Clear fruits, plums, apricot, figs, raisins and sugar. Mild bitterness towards the end, but it is the fruity sweetness and the vinous character that lingers most. Nice lingering ’oomphiness’ as well. A bit too sweet to my likings, yet a remarkably fruity and tasty barley wine. Syrupy texture, mild bodied. Definitely a good barley wine, but it could have been a bit more refined with regard to its sweetness.

Marstonlad (929) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 1, 2017
Bottle at DeTolly, Tartu. Pours dark brown with a little white head. The aroma features sweet, syrupy maltiness, overripe fruitiness, raisin and caramel. Taste is heavily sweet, later also bitter; potent, intense and very rich in taste. Flavours of caramel, fudge, raisin, The palate is full-bodied, smooth and low in carbonation. Very nice sweet and strong barley wine.

Bottle thanks to the dregs run. Cheers Craig! Pours a deep russet, no head. Lovely sweet leather aroma, new settee and candy floss. A smidgen of bubblegum before it gets stuck to the underside of a desk. Taste is more prosaic, heavy on the malty toffee notes. Sweet finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy dark brown with a small off-white head and an aroma of oak, whiskey, coffee, cabbage, maple syrup, bourbon, chocolate and minerals. The taste is heavy sweet with a full body, medium carbonation and a finish that is both medium bitter and sticky sweet. Pretty good!
