A pour from the bottle on Black Christmas V. Pours a hazy copper. Roasted malt, some fruits. Nothing special.

patricks110 (2879) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 24, 2017
A bit of a dud. I love rye malt but this doesn't seem to be very interesting overall. Pour is quite nice; dark murky brown, a slight cloudiness in the body, thin beige head. The nose is earthy, slight floral and herbal hop notes, light spice notes and a toasty bread malt. Lighter body than I expected, kind of watery, no carbonation. Slight sweetness on the finish with mild bitterness, quite earthy and i find notes of spice, leather, herbal and grassy hops.

Expired bottle from de Caigny in Essen, Belgium. The beer is hazy brown colored and has a large broken white foam, with good carbonation. The aroma is malty and has notes of roasted malts, toffee, dark fruits, grains, bread and a hint of spices. The taste is light to medium sweet and starts with notes of dried fruits, citrus and caramel, and changes into a light to medium bitterness with notes of coffee, chocolate, rye, yeast, pepper and a hint of yeast. The finish is bitter and dry.
