On tap in Stevens Point. On a business trip out here, and Ive gotta say, its a little scary how proud they are of this brewer. There are displays and ads everywhere, including a big display at the airport. The hotel where we stayed had a gift shop that sold almost exclusively Point Brewing merchandise. Anyway, the beer was OK. Drinkable, decent taste, but something was off about the palate.

Clear amber color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation level. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Bready and caramel malty flavor.

Aroma, muted, is a mix of toasted malt, and solvents. Flavor has the toasted malt come out and become the best part of this beer. Body is a little off, bit thin, slightly over carbonated. Still, not a bad brew.

Bottle from Artisan Tap, Bedford. Golden brown and clear as a bell, with massive carbonation creating only a thin white head. Gummy aroma reminiscent of tree sap and envelope glue. Sweet resinous taste with slight earthy hop in the finish. Im quite find of this, especially considering it isnt one of my favourite styles.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear reddish amber color, with a medium sized white head. The aroma is slightly nutty with some sweet maple. This is a very average beer.

Bottle. [As Point Amber Lager] Pours amber with frothy, fully diminishing head. Floral hoppy aromas. A bit fruity and herbal. Watery. Mild. Not that much going on at all. What a shame. Some spiciness to it, a bit of hops and a dry finish. But not what I expected.

Bottle. Clear, dark copper color with a small to medium head. Aroma was a sweet nutty, smell. Taste was well balanced with a nice malty flavor upfront, slightly sweet in the middle with a clean, slightly bitter finish.
