3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at Food and Froth. This here is a surprisingly good Point beer! It’s a nice light Bock, without the caramel and toffee sometimes dominating others in an effort to be strong. Very sessionable.
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a semi - hazy golden orange color with not much of a head and what was there quickly dissipated within less ten seconds. There wasn’t any lacing.
The smell had some light sweet German malts with a super light hop bitterness way underneath.
The taste was mainly sweet and had a slight sweet cooked apple aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it.
Overall, not a bad Maibock worthy of having again in Wisconsin Spring evenings. steve1966 (131) - Florida, USA - JUN 11, 2013
no head boozy grainy sweet not as good as some maibocks i have had schells has a nice floral one.... seems to loose something as it warms still not bad. DasBierChef (1083) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2012
Pours a darker gold with thin white head. Aroma is fairly sweet but light. Flavor is very similiar. OmegaX (1375) - Florida, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Thanks Chelsea!! Snifter pour. Body is burnt orange colored with some off-white head and a good lacing that hung out for the duration of the brew’s life. Nose is mostly light caramel malt with some light yeast and spice in the background. Some grassy aromas too. Taste follows the same profile, with a more pale malt/light grain heavy flavor. Some slight sweetness followed by a dry finish. Somewhat thin. Not bad at all. tnkw01 (1756) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 28, 2011
Bottle. Aroma is herby, grassy with a touch of yeast. Taste, malty, spicy, great flavor. Dark yellow, orange apperance. Love it!!

[3684-20110416] 355mL bottle. Light grass and field mud aroma has a hint of floral spice. Clear, medium orange body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Corn cob grains flavour. Medium body has just a little bitter boozy bite to it. Average, not sure I’d enjoy a larger sample. (6/3/6/3/11) 2.9

Pale golden pour - thin white head. The aroma is slightly sweet and a little bit of lean malt. Softly sweet with a light honeyed flavour. A touch of white pepper. A bit clean and fairly sweet with some light alcohol. It’s quite nice actually, if fairly simple. Radek Kliber (7369) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - APR 21, 2011

Aroma: proper straight aroma typical to stronger pale lager. Good malts , mineral hop with slight dryness of alcohol. 6+
Appearance: bright golden with hint of amber. Clear. Bright medium plus white top. Proper again.
Palate / Taste: Medium plus bodied. Smooth malty base with toasty feel , hint of cardboard. Other than that straight malty lager. Not bad effort of this style.
2011-04-17. Crisp golden body with a foamy white head. 3+ Mild aroma, mild sweet pale malt, light alcohol. 6+ Flavour is simple, mild pale malt profile, sweet finish. 6+ Smooth average bodied palate. An enjoyably simple example of a style that is not one of my favorites. Bottle shared by Radek

Surprisingly strong beer. Went well with a roasted garlic bacon cheeseburger.
