3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
six pack from the local rip and run. Twist off cap, glad I used electrical tape for Mr. Coldbrewky. Pours a lovely translucent amber capped by a billowy off white head with good retention. Nose has a nice bread character. Taste follows in order with light bitterness and flowers. Body is a bit weak and watery. Tasty and easy drinking none the less.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at a party. Thin inoffensive slightly tasty marzen. A little on the creamy side very lightly hopped. Light bodied, a tad on the flavorless side. Not a go-to but acceptable autumnal fodder.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Straightforward Oktoberfest that has a pleasant caramel and bread aroma and full, sweet malt taste. Perhaps Point’s best seasonal offering.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle from Klineman’s in Delavan, WI (August 2016), drunk a bit above fridge temp from a lager glass. My first Oktoberfest of the season! Medium clear amber pour, large and tenacious off-whie head with fine lacing...simple sweet caramel-malty nose lacks the toasty notes I expect but not unpleasant...too sweet on the tongue though, and without enough body to back it up, this is immediately cloying and tough to drink, though a little bit of acerbic burnt/smoky character does show up to save it (somewhat). Not terrible, but not good either; I used half of this bottle for cooking and it was probably a wise choice.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: I don’t know if I should take the oxidation into consideration, since I bought this on closeout. The beer is dominated by a sweet malty breadiness, which I suppose is exactly what you look for in a Marzen.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted blind: This is slightly cloudy w/ a foamy head, pretty light in color for an American Oktoberfest. It’s pretty mild in flavor but oversweet and sticky. It’s got a bit of oxidized malt and a combination of mineral and citrus notes that sit kind of strangely together. This is drinkable at best.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured at the Galaxy Oktoberfest. Light golden amber with a small head. Aroma is malts with toffee, caramel, and graham crackers with bread dough. Light spices. The taste is similar with a nice blend of the caramel and toffee. Moderate sweetness and carbonation. Not a bad marzen.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This O-fest has a little more hop presence than others. Otherwise malty and sweet as expected. Tasty.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, poured into a pint glass at about 40 degrees F.
A: Pours a deep amber, like the color of clover honey. Formed a decent white head, and left little lacing on the glass.
S: The aroma was mostly toast, with hints of caramel. It smelled warm.
T: As promised by the nose, toast and a little biscuit, with some slight caramel and nut flavors at the finish.
M: Overall mouthfeel was smooth if a bit fizzy, until the watery finish.
O: A standard marzen. Nothing outstanding, but nothing bad either. I won’t go out of my way to find more, but if a six pack happens to be on sale for $2.99 again at a local store like this one was, it’s worth the price.
