COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

12 oz. twist-off bottle, no freshness date, sampled in a lager glass. Poured a clear golden hued amber with a frothy off-white head, decent retention, a little ringed sticking at the top of the glass. Aromas of lightly roasted caramel, nutty, traces of sweet fruitiness and floral hops. Smooth medium-light body, crisp and dry, easy quaffability. Sweet tasting, lightly roasted caramel with some pale malt sweetness. Sweet green grape fruitiness in the middle. Mildly spicy hops along with a dry nuttiness coming out at the end. A passable Oktoberfest at an affordable price. Won’t knock your socks off, but will do in a pinch.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Cleam amber brew with light head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hay, bread. Taste is sweet malt at the start with a little grass and floral hops in the finish. Still sweet at the end, but not overwhelming as this is overall rather thin and weak. Average pallate. A little sticky in the finish. Quaffable.

typical orange/brown color (great autumn colors) for an O’fest. head is frothy, beige. aroma has a lot of bready malts and a nice earthiness. flavor is pretty similar with a metallic quality. not bad, but thin.

Poured at the Galaxy Oktoberfest. Light golden amber with a small head. Aroma is malts with toffee, caramel, and graham crackers with bread dough. Light spices. The taste is similar with a nice blend of the caramel and toffee. Moderate sweetness and carbonation. Not a bad marzen.

Bottle. Pours a clear ambery-copper color, smallish white head not much retention, or lacing. Nose is extremely faint, some malt and candied orange. Mouth is medium bodied, lightly bitter throughout, mildly malty with some orange peel and bread dough. Finishes with some cereal. Unisnpired and extremely average leaning towards sub-par.

12 oz bottle pours a clear amber with a small white head and a little lacing. Aroma is mostly caramel malts, with some vanilla and a bit of grass. Finish has a light citrus touch. Body is light to medium without much carbonation. As the start of the name implies, it’s OK, but I won’t search for this next fall. Thankfully, I only paid $6 for a 6-pack.

(bottle, thanks Skyview) Pours light amber with a white head. Aroma of some honey and a little caramel. Taste was also malty with a crisp finish, but really not much else.

Had this one on draught at the brewery in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Clear, copper pour with a thick off-white head. A nice malty nose and character. Pleasant but ultimately weak.

Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - SEP 23, 2008
A nice looking pour. A clear amber color with a nice two-finger tall off-white head. No real lacing. Boring malty aroma with some acidic notes and maybe some light spice and hops thrown in. The flavor wasn’t good. Malty and acidic with no spice or hops pushing through. Thin mouthfeel.
