2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours with a standard-looking amber hue and a tight head of white foam. The aroma is soapy, macro-like. This drinks with a hint of toasty malt and a sweet maltose/biscuit finish. Falls flat. (#4823, 11/18/2012)
12 oz bottle from notes. Pours a clear amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, caramel, hints of fruit and earth, light hop
character, very plain. drdisque (877) - Illinois, USA - OCT 16, 2016
Bottle at a party. Thin inoffensive slightly tasty marzen. A little on the creamy side very lightly hopped. Light bodied, a tad on the flavorless side. Not a go-to but acceptable autumnal fodder. ozzy70 (1264) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 14, 2016
Sample from bottle at Hy-Vee Oktoberfest. Poured amber, white head. Aroma was malt, toasted malt, light. Taste was medium sweet, roasty malt. mrjaxson (612) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 9, 2016
Straightforward Oktoberfest that has a pleasant caramel and bread aroma and full, sweet malt taste. Perhaps Point’s best seasonal offering. muzzlehatch (4970) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 26, 2016
12 ounce bottle from Klineman’s in Delavan, WI (August 2016), drunk a bit above fridge temp from a lager glass. My first Oktoberfest of the season! Medium clear amber pour, large and tenacious off-whie head with fine lacing...simple sweet caramel-malty nose lacks the toasty notes I expect but not unpleasant...too sweet on the tongue though, and without enough body to back it up, this is immediately cloying and tough to drink, though a little bit of acerbic burnt/smoky character does show up to save it (somewhat). Not terrible, but not good either; I used half of this bottle for cooking and it was probably a wise choice.

Bottle, Pours copper with tan head. Nose is caramel malt, heavy malt, with some hops, tastes very malty, somewhat light on palate heft. Frank (4225) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 30, 2015
Tasted blind: This is slightly cloudy w/ a foamy head, pretty light in color for an American Oktoberfest. It’s pretty mild in flavor but oversweet and sticky. It’s got a bit of oxidized malt and a combination of mineral and citrus notes that sit kind of strangely together. This is drinkable at best. Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - OCT 11, 2015
Poured at the Galaxy Oktoberfest. Light golden amber with a small head. Aroma is malts with toffee, caramel, and graham crackers with bread dough. Light spices. The taste is similar with a nice blend of the caramel and toffee. Moderate sweetness and carbonation. Not a bad marzen. propsync (35) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 20, 2014
This O-fest has a little more hop presence than others. Otherwise malty and sweet as expected. Tasty.

Bottle, poured into a pint glass at about 40 degrees F.
A: Pours a deep amber, like the color of clover honey. Formed a decent white head, and left little lacing on the glass.
S: The aroma was mostly toast, with hints of caramel. It smelled warm.
T: As promised by the nose, toast and a little biscuit, with some slight caramel and nut flavors at the finish.
M: Overall mouthfeel was smooth if a bit fizzy, until the watery finish.
O: A standard marzen. Nothing outstanding, but nothing bad either. I won’t go out of my way to find more, but if a six pack happens to be on sale for $2.99 again at a local store like this one was, it’s worth the price.
