Rated on 01-23-2013 (Bottle) This beer forms a medium sized semi-fizzy beige head with a short retention, copper transparent body and no lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, hint of banana and spicy. The flavor is caramel malt, sweet, spicy, and light hops. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light-medium bodied. This is a quaffable session beer that I would drink again, TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Pours a deep brown with tan head. Spice, dark fruits, and some roasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more spice. cheap (5965) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2014
Big and black beauty with nice head, shouldah been a 5. Like a black ipa on the palate. Perhaps a bit difficult to the unexpected. Yes, wew, dark beer fer sure. When i saw winter I thunk spicey but it is not; more like dark roasted strong beer. Yes, this must be black IPA, not strong ale, but I’m not doubting its strong, heheh. Thick medicinal finish. Not typical of the friendly point brand beers I’ve had in the past. Yes, either black ipa or baltic porter.

This was OK and improved as it warmed up a bit. Mild malty aroma.
It had a nice mohagony color with a nice foamy head. Average weighted palate with matching carbonation. A pretty malty beer with some nutty flavors and very minor hops presence. It had the English character of subtlety. A little above average. Bif (2281) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - JAN 12, 2014
Pours an almost black color with a thick tan head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with coffee and chocolate with some dark fruit and nut in the background. Taste of roasted malt with coffee, chocolate with a bit of dark fruit. Decent bitterness with that lingers a bit too long. Medium body, quite smooth and seems to mellow out as it warms. Decent seasonal beer
