Poured copper-gold with decent head. Aromatics of sweet pumpkin pie spices. Great flavor! A nice surprise with Thanksgiving this year. An interesting discovery - 2012 GABF winner. angel865 (4) - - SEP 29, 2013 does not count
This is the ultimate pumpkin ale... taste like pumpkin pie with a dollop whip cream! All kidding aside..a superior pumpkin ale! fatbobk2 (4) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 25, 2013 does not count
Iíve tried nearly a dozen pumpkin ales and this by far is my favorite. If youíre looking with a pumpkin ale that really captures the flavor of pumpkin pie then this is the beer for you. It has a creamy vanilla note to it that almost all other pumpkin ales Iíve tried are missing. This is heavy on the spice and pumpkin flavor, while still letting the taste of the beer through. Pours dark orange umber with a small light beige head. Smells of pumpkin, spices, and hints of crust sweetness. Taste is exactly like a pumpkin pie in beer form. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and lightly fizzy mouth-carbonation, Point Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale finishes sweet and pumpkin pie-like. This is one of the best pumpkin beers Iíve ever had. The pumpkin flavor is at the forefront and it has such a nice sweetness to it. It almost tastes like itís a mix of pumpkin and maple syrup, and itís fantastic.

Pours a brownish orange with a creamy head. Smells like fresh pumpkin pie. Taste is unbelievably pumpkin for a beer. Easily the best pumpkin beer Iíve tasted. I didnít try this, but you could probably add whip cream or vanilla ice cream for a great beer float. MetalNHopHead (1901) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - OCT 26, 2016
Relatively few spice-infused pumpkin ales deliver on the promise of tasting like pumpkin pie in beer form. This is one of those. dlihcsnatas (742) - Temple, Texas, USA - NOV 25, 2016
Hazy orange with small head that hangs on for a little while. Smells of spices and freshly baked pumpkins, oh man the aroma is so good, just like pumpkin pie. The aroma was just a preview because this tastes just like pumpkin pie. Fairly thick and creamy, by far one of the best pumpkin ales I have ever tried. Had this one last year and loved it then too. Not sure why I didnít get it on Ratebeer but got it on here now. This beer would be well stocked in my fridge if it wasnít for that price tag. It is a bit more expensive and comes in a four pack. So guess this will be a four pack each year and nothing more and for that reason overall the cost lost points with me. Still a VERY good brew! My favorite pumpkin ale out there! Neighbor shared some of his stash & I've been grateful ever since.

12 oz bottle served in a pint glass. Beer is a beautiful amber in color. Dense one finger off white head thins quickly but then hangs around a while. Not much lacing. Nice aroma. Moderate notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is lightly sweet with good balanced notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Some true pumpkin. Taste resembles that of ginger snap cookies. Medium bodied beer with average carbonation. Overall very good pumpkin spice ale. On the spiced side but not overly so. A well balaced beer with good spices and not overly malty or sweet.
