Poured from 12oz bottle, pours black with a very thin tan head, the aroma actually has a decent amount of hops on the nose with a slight sweetness, the flavor seems to be lacking the backbone of an imperial stout, some roasted malt and a little bit of chocolate, decent mouthfeel, was expecting it to be a little bit more thin, not terrible, but one of the better ones I’ve tried from Steven’s Point.

Bottle shared with Chris in NYC. Pours rich black with a fine, beige foam head. Aroma holds lots of sugary, dark malts, some cocoa. Big sweet flavor, burnt toast, baking cocoa, chocolate syrup, burnt leaves, earth. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light warmth to finish, plenty of sweet chocolate, some dark leather, rich and dark fruits, ripe bananas, faint earthy roast. Decent.

Draught at Rattle&Hum, NYC. Black beer with a nice lasting beige head. Chocolate aroma, milky, fruity, vanilla notes, licorice, cream, tar, roasted, some iron. Milky vanilla flavor, candy, figs, raisins, toffee, roasted, milk chocolate, licorice, some plums. Decent but a bit on the sweet side. Milk chocolate finish with some vanilla and figs.

The beer pours a black color with a brown head. The aroma has a lot of roasted malt in it, as well as some chocolate. The flavor is very similar. There are huge chocolate and roasted malt notes coming through, with some bitterness from the hops and a hint of grass coming through as well. I also get a little bit of pine from the hops. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours black in the glass with a strong roasted espresso aroma. More espresso notes in the flavor with some dark cocoa and a hint of licorice as well. Overall, nice...

Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - AUG 4, 2012
Pours a deep brown/black color with a creamy, modest lasting tan head. Aroma has a lot of dark fruity notes with a modest roasted presence later in the nose. Flavor has an early prune, plum, light anise flavor with some roasted bitterness in the middle and a light chocolate sweetness at the tail end. Body is pretty thick with a slightly oily texture. Overall a pretty good brew as flavors really meld well to form a solid malt presence.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate and small hop aroma. Moderate to heavy dark sweet malt flavor with a moderate to heavy sweet finish of average duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This beer met my expectations.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall light brown head and a ruby tint when held at an angle near a light. Aroma of strong roasted malt, coffee, nuts, earth and a lot of caramel with a hint of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Roasty malt flavour with a strong chestnut and nutty finish with a little bit of sugar, some light prunes and plums and a little bit of earth - nothing deep, nothing strong and nothing too interesting. Aftertaste is quite minimal with a little nuttiness, a decent amount of roasted malt and some sweetness, all with not much body and even less complexity. Overall, a pretty bad Imperial Stout, and not even really in this category, but not a bad beer when compared with everything else. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-July-2012 for US$2.00 sampled at home in Washington a few hours before heading up to Wisconsin on 26-July-2012.

Bottle. Pours clear black with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and roast malt, prune notes with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
