Keg at The Old Fashioned. Black, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of coffee, roast, molasses. Taste is raisin, chocolate, anise, roast, cherries. Medium bodied, a little harsh.

Dark brown color with a tallish somewhat fizzy, small bubbled tan head. Herbal tar, molasses, and dark chocolate aromas. Hint of alcohol. Average feel. Light sweetness, with bits of licorice and dark toasted malt. A black malt flavor without the bitterness and little roastiness. A dark ale, with not much intrigue. 8/10

Mildly sweet aroma but overall thin nose and lacks roasty aroma. Pours dark brown/black with a foamy tab head. Soft lacing. Flavor is about average for a RIS. Definitely on the thinner side for the style.if u are looking for a big robust RIS then look else where. If your looking for a drinkable beer with a fair ABV within the style then this might work. Personally would have liked it to be bigger in body and flavor.

This is the Rum Barrel Aged I had on tap. Pretty big beer for Point. Dark body with a thin tan head. Very sweet chocolate sugar aroma. Taste is a little too sweet for me. Usually rum barrels do that for me. Still very tasty.

Bottle, screw-top. Nose is chocolaty but thin and without heavy roast or coffee, it’s sort of a plastic McD’s toy where impies are concerned. Pours deep, dark brown with a large and noisy beige head, somewhat like a beer float. Taste is medium-strongly bitter, mostly dry, thin body but with nice scorching and acrid character, some mild fruit in the background under the weird chocolate. Only a small amount of booze showing, certainly not out of whack like its cousins. Light wood, hops are there but minimal, nice portery roast. Fine.

12oz twist off, yes twist off in 2015, bottle from Spirits Brick. Poured an okay looking solid black body with a rather small tight foamy deep beige head. Aroma of sweeter chocolate, chocolate pudding, dark fruits, nutts, mud, citrus fruits. Flavor is a bit more roasty, thankfully, than the aroma. Notes of roast, burnt malts, well done toast, sweet chocolate, alcohol, pineapple, grapefruit and apple followed by some neespaper and cardboard. Medium to fuller mouthfeel with stingy strong carbonation. Meh, its like a RIS introductory beer.

Way better than it is rated. This one is very similar to a bourbon county brand stout. Sweet and slightly bourbony, this is a real treat. Had a bottle pour at home. Black with a thin tan head ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml twist of fbottle. Nice pour, with a creamy tan head, pours like motor oil and is not the blackest beer ever but decently dark brown. The aorma has a fruity quality to it with some roasted malt and cocoa. The flavor is sweet and syrupy, dark caramel malt flavors, raisins, chocolate. It is all here, and for a ncie price. Good stuff.

Bottled January 14, 2015.
Glass: Weyerbacher tulip.
Appearance: Black body, some chestnut on the edges, with a dense tan head.
Aroma: A bit of spoiled milk with hints of dark fruits and very light chocolate.
Taste: Mildly hoppy, some orange floating around, with hints of oxidation and spoiled milk. Not a very good beer, the malt base is murky and not very good.
Palate: Near full-bodied, mild to moderately carbonated.
Overall: This tastes like a homebrew and even then I would be overly critical of it. Certainly not worth sitting on shelves let alone being brewed by a professional brewery.

Surprisingly good Russian Imperial Stout. Feel a little hoodwinked by Point - thought I found a new brewery named Whole Hog
