COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2017 Uklar og gylden i glasset. Fine humlenuancer i næsen. Bitter på tungen, næsten som en IPA.

Bottle at the Elm Tree from Belgian National Day Festival. Light golden and almost clear. A small foamy white head leaves considerable lacing. Candy sugar yeast, pear drops, notes of coriander in the aroma. Further olfactory probing reveals touches of butterscotch, bubblegum and applesauce. Taste is initially simple and sticky sweet, with yeasty flavours to the fore. The ensuing soft bitterness is welcome, giving more depth to the taste. Concentrated resiny hop bitter finish. Fruit caramel, orchard fruit and sourdough dance in the aftertaste. Thin to medium creamy body. Heavy carbonation, but it feels brilliant on the lips. Surprised as to how much I liked this (a lot)!

Meget humlet, helt over i IPA afdelingen, den er dog lidt lysere i det, men har samme lækre blomster/honningsmag over sig.

Flaska belgoklubben. Guldisig vätska. Doft av jäst, hö, örter och aprikos. Smått stallig. Smak av ovanstående med kryddig ton. Diskret beska

Overraskende god øl, rund, blid og skøn. Den overrasker ikke, men den tager dig med storm. Den fylder, uden at være dominerende. Sgu et godt bryg!
