Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a gold color with a small white head. The aroma is a sweet mix of fruit. The taste is fruit driven with some caramel malt.

Bottle pours light brown with white head. This is sweet and a little bit of pumpkin pie spice. Honey like sweetness with a mild hop after taste. Pretty good beer
