UPDATED: MAY 14, 2010 2010-04-17, bottle, 7-5-8-5-16=41
It pours a beautiful amber color with copper lights. Good aroma, though not huge: caramel, malt, toffee, some creamy hops. The body is strong; sweet toffee flavor, strong bitterness, with some bitter oranges and resins.
Powerful and still very enjoyable, even if not fresh anymore.

2009-02-04, bottle at Akkurat, 8-4-9-5-18=44
Hazy light amber color. Very nice aroma, hoppy and malty, with a lot of pleasant resins, and sweetness; hop flowers too. Bold Ale, powerful mouthfeel, it has a chewy toffee flavor, well sweet but not syrupy; very high bitterness, with a good mix of resins and some bitter oranges and bitter almonds (till the end). Extreme but balanced. I like the way, mostly in the beginning, in which the malt cheats you and the beer tastes almost like a Barley Wine, with oxidized malts, even reminding me a Thomas Hardy; then the hop brings you back to reality. Excellent

Koelschtrinker (20591) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 8, 2011
Hopfiger, leicht scharfer Antrunk. 10/12/10/12/11/12

Bottle. Small head with short duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich hops, caramel, fruits and flowers.

TBone (17683) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 14, 2009
Bottled 650 ml (CK). Clear amber color, small beige head. Aroma has hops, honey and pineapple with notes of pinewood. Very sweet and honeyish IIPA. Citrus, resin and grapefruit. Bitter finish. Strong warming alcohol in the oily aftertaste. Quite powerful Double IPA.

Bottle, shared by papsoe. It pours an unclear, golden-orange body with a beige head. Piney, resiny, very citrusy nose with tropical fruits, sugars and beefstock. Sticky-sweet in the mouth, full-bodied, warming and almost astringent from the hops. Pine, resin, citrus, tropical fruits and a nice bitterness. The finish is of the lasting kind, with piney and resiny hops, some citrus and lots of bitterness. Actually so much hops it gets a bit challenging to drink, even for a hop-lover. The alcohol gives too much warmth I think, but the beer is really nice. (080823)

660ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, American Weeks 2009) - shared by oh6gdx - thanks!
Cascadey biscuity aroma. Soft smooth, almost sticky, palate. Decent full body, but rather sweet. Fairly pleasant to drink, but just like all the other boring US beers of its ilk - sweet biscuity malts plus sweet citrusy hops. Yawn. At least it’s not obnoxious, but they really ought to rein in the sugar.

Dedollewaitor (16174) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2008
75cl bottle. Thanks to Papsoe/Ungstrup. Pours cloudy golden with a creamy white head & lacings. Nose is tropical fruity hops. Hops all over. Warm, sticky, powerful & a bit burning. Looong bitter end. Perhaps unbalanced & mega heavy - but I damm sure like it!

bhensonb (15338) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 29, 2008
Bomber from South Bay Drug. Copper amber color with a very slight white head. Very strong pine and citrus aromas. Near full bodied. With creamy carbonation. Malty. Bitter. Dry unto astringency. Hop bomb it is. It’s not even harsh.

Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2008
Bottle at Sune’s (Thanks). Clear dark golden - white head. High hoppy, knækbrød, sharpness, fruity, peach, cactus, light malty body. Very nice - a bit simple.

Ratman197 (14958) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 30, 2008
Bomber poured a hazy orange with a small lingering ring of light amber foam. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, orange and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, orange zest, pine and light earthiness with a smooth lingering bitter finish.

Much better than the first bottle I tried which was full of butterscotch and other strange flavors, I wish I could have tried it fresh.
