May 13th, 2014 - Port Brewing’s Anniversary Ale is true to its origins, dank and intense and everything San Diego likes to see in his native sons/daughters. A paler brown and orange, much of the color of the beer is covered by the massive umbrella of the head, clotted and fluffy. The aroma is decorated with corn, some marijuana dankness, and a bit of soap, with a smaller accent of leather. Given how bold and outgoing the aroma is, the flavor starts surprisingly mild, almost tasteless. But it ramps up, boozy and dark with more weediness, and then shifts to a long, boozy aftertaste, sweetened with graham cracker, cheap whiskey and much later in the aftertaste, straight up ethanol. Cloudy orange pour with a light beige head. Aroma is malt and fruity hops. Taste is hoppy, grapefruit. A little bitter aftertaste from the hops. Nice malt backbone. Hoppy aftertaste. A little pine in the finish. Great lacing. SNL (886) - - FEB 20, 2016
Slightly hazy amber pour, frothy white head.
Nice hoppy nose, hoppy taste with a floral hint. Some alcohol apparent.
Full body, soft carbonation. Linnet (1972) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - JAN 15, 2016
This is obviously an Old bottle. Galatea sells Old bottles and shows blatant disregard for the customer and the brewery.
The nose has marmalade, alcohol, bit dusty and tired hops, resin and earth. Obviously more aromatic when fresh.
Hazy golden colour, medium white head, some lacing.
Big bite, heavily sweet ABV well integrated.
Fullbodied, soft carbonation, warming and sweet finish.
I blame the importer that the Beer didn't get a higher grade. BeerBaboon (2188) - FINLAND - DEC 28, 2015
Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is fruity and has loads of piney hops. Flavor is heavy bitter, medium sweet and fruity.
