COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Port Brewing beers are typically boldly-flavored American and hop-forward West Coast style ales or lagers, and Board Meeting Brown Ale is no exception. An amplified brown ale, the beer is brewed with liberal additions of coffee from local San Diego roasters, Ryan Brothers, and cocoa nibs sourced from famed San Francisco chocolate maker TCHO. Alcohol by volume is 8.5%.

Board Meeting offers the malty richness and assertive hop presence that you expect in an American brown ale, but enhanced with pronounced roasted coffee and bitter chocolate aromas and flavors, Arthur said. I think people will enjoy this beer by itself and at the table paired with meat dishes like pork, roasts and barbeque. I imagine itd be pretty good washing down a sausage omelet at breakfast too.

Pours extremely dark, like motor oil. Definite coffee aroma. Burnt, dark roasted coffee. Creamy flavoring, hints of battery acid.

Takie coś na pograniczu Brown Ale, Scotch Ale, Old Ale, English i American Strong Ale - w sumie trudno jednoznacznie stwierdzić, dodatek zaś kawy i kakao jeszcze bardziej komplikuje sprawę w postaci nutek FESowo porterowych. Samo piwo średnio pijalne, może nie jest gęste, ale treściwe, nieco mulące na dłuższą metę.

Dark brown/black with light brown head. aroma is coffee and malt. Not really sweet for such a high gravity beer. The hop "forwardness" is really more of a balance to the malt rather than an aggressive hop presence. I like that it is not overly bitter nor does it cover up the darker malt nuances with a hop braggadocious character. I still much prefer the London style Brown Ale, but this is not bad by any means.

Tap. Pours a clear brown body with a small beige head. The nose is coffee and chocolate with some nutty and toasted malt. The flavor is similar, a heavier coffee note than the aroma, with some nutty malt and just light chocolate notes. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Your standard coffee brown, but done pretty well.

More leathery brown ale style with minimal head, muted chocolate aroma and taste. Livelier carbonation than you would get in a stout.

Nearly black pour with a tan head. The aroma is malty with dark chocolate and mild coffee. It has a medium body with slightly sticky texture and average carbonation. The taste roasted and dry.
