First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

Hazy amber/orange color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of pine hops, caramel malt, citrus, & some fruit; Flavor of slight sweet malt, caramel, rich pine hops, some mango/pineapple, and citrus (notably tangerine & grapefruit); Finish is dry & bitter; Nicely balanced; A wallop of hops - excellent IPA.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of orange, straw, pine and caramel. Flavour of pine, grapefruit, candy and menthol. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Uncompromisingly bitter and hoppy, which helps to disguise the 10% ABV, but slightly hinders its swiggability. I love a high IBU Imperial IPA.

Wonderful pine/citrus rind hop and honey malt sweetness aroma. An easy 10. Dark hazy orange color with a stark white head of foam. Tastes sweet in the background with a strong hop presence all throughout. The hops are more of the citrus variety but with an earthy quality added in. Very drinkable for 10% ABV. The palate is very full and silky for the style. This was excellent. Truly a 100 rated beer that lives up to its hype. Buy this right now if you can get it.

65cl bottle. Hazy orangish golden colour with a generous off-white head. Pine, caramel, spices, citrus and other fruits in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium bitter with caramel and spice notes up front, followed by a bitter kick and finishes with a long, dry and bitter piny flavour. Overall, a fantastic beer.

Winter 2015 version, 10.5% abv. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange on tap with fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace. Aroma of big resinous citrus and fresh cut grass from the hops. Taste has more of a balance with the malt, but still huge hop presence. Booze is well hidden, but it sneaks up on you the more you drink. Really well done double IPA.
