COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV. Spring 2013 is 10%.

Bottle at "Wining & Dining Tasting" - Thanks to Sune. Cheese aroma & cheese taste - too much cheese, it ruins the beer for me. High hoppy, hop juice, grape, old sour cheese, sharp light unpleasantness. SORRY !!!

Strong resin hop aroma. Also floral hop. Maybe some light citrus hop. Lots of hop. Hazy orange gold color with a white head that laced strangely. Medium to full body with caramel malt and lots of different hop. It is definitely malty, and it is surely well balanced. I can feel evergreen in my throat. The malt tends to slip away and the hop turns rather piney. Incredibly awesome.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured hazy copper color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy sour citrus hoppy and dark fruit aroma. Medium body with dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Heavy smooth bittersweet citrus flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2005 (1/12/05) Clear amber with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, strong grapefruit, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel, herbal. Full body with very nice resin feel. (8/4/9/5/18). (1/28/04) Opaque color with off-white head. Aroma is sweet, grapefruit/pine, caramel. Taste is mild sweet, heavy grapefruit, noticeable alcohol. Medium-full body. (7/4/6/4/13). (9/6/02) Hazy amber. The aroma is pine, beautiful pine. The flavor is also pine -- its the essence of this beer, from start to finish. That being said, it doesnt become overwhelming, and its very well-balanced. Some spiciness as well. All told, a profound experience indeed! (10/4/9/5/19)

Bottle at Brewdog Aberdeen. Pours cloudy orange with a foamy off-white head that thins quickly. Nose; pine, resin, lots of tropical/citrus fruits - oranges, peaches, grapefruit, pineapple, subtle malt. Taste; pine, resin, varnish, tropical citrus fruits, subtle caramel and fairly obvious alcohol. Medium bodied and slightly syrupy. Impressive IPA.

(11/12/08) Bottle at Monks Cafe in Philadelphia. Hazy orange-amber color with a tiny white head that disappears immediately. Aroma loaded with hops, some flowers, citrus notes and some pine. Bitter hoppy flavor with some pine and grapefruit, a rather low malt profile and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Not too balanced but a good, tasty, DIPA.
