COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s not often that a great summer swell coincides with a full moon, but when they collide, nature affords us a rare opportunity to paddle out long after everyone has called it a day. These moments are a solitary pursuit with empty lineups, but those who carve graceful lines under a full moon understand how things can be dark lonely and rewarding at the same time. So next time you paddle in from an overcrowded beach break, remember that nothing tastes better than a cold beer after a session. We suggest a glass of this smooth roasty black lager for contemplating empty lineups and waves that go on for days. Most likely, you’ll long for epic summer swells under moon lit sessions opening the doors to isolation and empty secret spots of an age trying to pass us by.
Note: Formerly Midnight Sessions Lager.

My first introduction to this style. For the uninitiated, think black IPA without the IPA part. Really nice black malty flavors. Quite roasty. Smooth in all ways. Very, very good.

Not bad for a dark lager. Hints of nuts and coffee, but not rich and thick like a stout. Perfect beer to pair with ribs or a nice steak!

Pours a dark brownish black from the bottle with fluffy tan brown head. Aroma is chocolate, slight lager yeast. Taste follows, a hint of smoke in there too. Bubbly mouth, pretty nice for how old it is.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2014 Tap. Pleasant coffee roast. Dark chocolate. Doughy cocoa. Easy drinking. Pleasant roast chatacter . Like balance between bitter dark chocolate roast and sweet truffle cocoa. Good.

Bomber from Five Points Bottle Shop (Atl Hwy) discount bin. Light chocolate nose with a handful of rusty nails. Thick black, with a clumpy tan head. Mild chocolate and some dark fruit / choco continues in mid / mild lightly sweet finish. Medium body. Okay. Well made ,,, and all... but not a lot going on here.

Concealer (1251) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Tap, hops and pie. Clear dark, reddish brown with a light tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, dark fruit, and light coffee. Flavor is the same. Light bodied and smooth.

on tap poured into a 4oz english tulip. Grilled hot dog aromas hit the nose initially and almost overwhelmingly. As it mellows, some tropical fruit notes start to come through under the smokiness. It pours a dark, nearly-opaque, caramel red color with a micro bubble, espresso head. The head retention is pretty good and it leaves abundant lacing. It has a mellow burnt bitterness that out-muscles the mild sweet with a touch of umami. It’s a fairly light body, with a thin texture and very light amounts of carbonation. The mouth is mostly filled with a char-dog flavor (bun included!) and finishes with a very roasty nut and burnt toast finish which does linger for a while.

Draught. Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head on it. I get caramel and toasty malts up front, with some roasting coming through underneath. Taste is just a little sweet up front with a hint of cocoa. It then settles into a nice roastyness and a slight bitter finish, not unlike black coffee. Good light drink.
