Draught at the Publick House, Brookline, MA.
Hazy yellow colour with small white head. Strong fruity American hops and lots of bitterness in aroma. Very strong bitter hops, heavy dark bitterness and some mild alcohol in flavour. Mild alcohol burning. Thick. Strong lasting bitterness.

Shared this bottle at the BrewDog Bar, Edinburgh. A chunky golden colour with a thick white head. Resinous hop aroma of pine and passionfruit with some barley undertones. Oily mouth-feel with flavours of passionfruit, pineapple, mango and pine. Light chewy malt and very bitter, which I like! Superb!

22oz bomber. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a thick white head. Aroma is intensely hoppy - lots of green resiny sticky hops along with hints of fruit and honey. The flavor is quite nice - an excellent double IPA due to its balance and dryness (many tend to be cloying and too big). Some malt sweetness up front with hints of muffins and then big doses of resiny and grapefruity hops. Firm bitterness and dry finish - great hoppy aftertaste with excellent balance for such a bitter beer and far from too sweet for such a big beer. Overall, quite drinkable for such a big beer. Very good.

Golden appearance with a white head. The aroma is strong pine. Flavors are strong citrus, primarily grapefuit. Very smooth for this strong of an IPA. Short-lived and dry aftertaste.

Pours cloudy orange with off white head. Intense hop aroma citrus, resiny pine, malts, excellent. Smells very fresh for a 4 month old bottle. Intensity doesn’t let up in the taste, as the hops are in your face from the get go, nice lingering bitter finish on the back end. Big and bold, just like a true DIPA should taste. Cheers.

Barrios (1243) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 22, 2011
Pours a lacing beige head with a murky, golden body that has some floaties. Aromas of grass and mild citrus. Flavors of lemongrass, orange rind, some malt sweetness. Finish is bitter and dry.

A - Pours a hazy rich golden-orange color with a big finger of frothy off-white head atop. The head fades down slowly leaving behind lots of lace. S - Aroma is bursting with citrus and tropical hops with lots of grapefruit and pineapple. There is also a bit of piney hops in the background as well. T - Starts off big on the citrus/tropical hops flavor with lots of pineapple and grapefruit again. There is just a touch of caramel sweetness in the background. Through the middle, the bitterness gets even stronger and some piney/grassy hops come through as well. The finish is a mix of bitterness and a bit of sweetness with some solid lingering hop flavor. M - Meidum-full bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer feels smooth and a bit resiny. Overall, fairly dry and quite refreshing. D - Very drinkable. The beer is pretty hop forward, but the bit of sweetness really mixes in well. The hop profile is really excellent from start to end.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2012 Great stuff. Amber color, monster white head. There’s no malt in this one! A total palate overload for hop-heads. More pine hops than citrus, so it doesn’t overtake my favorite Threee Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf, but it’s right up there with one of my faves when I want a hops overload experience. From a bottle, I can only imagine how great this is on draft.

Deep orange-amber color, small steady white head. Strong nose has citrus, pine needles and flowery notes. Medium to full-bodied. Pine needles, resin, tropical fruits. Spicey finish. Warming fruity alcohol. World class DIPA.
