Barrel-aged version of Port Brewing Santas Little Helper.
2009 will be the inaugural release of this winter time classic. After brewing the 2008 batch of Santa’s we thought “wonder what this would taste like aged in a bourbon barrel?”
2015 states 12% on label. Previous batches at 10% abv

Draft. Rich aroma of chocolate and roasty malts. Flavor is wonderfully smooth, full of chocolate, spice and maybe even some vanilla. Hides its alcohol. Drank 2015 version.

Piana drobna powoli opada zdobiąc szkło. Kolor czarny. Aromat dębina wanilia, kokos, dominacja beczki. Smak mocno palony, czekolada, kawa, cukierki kukułki z efektem lekkiego szczypania alkoholu, wyraźna nie dominująca beczka w postaci wanilii i dębiny.

Pours pitch black.
Nose is vanilla and aniseed. Bourbony and woody. Caramel and mocha.
Flavours are oak and spices with waves of chocolate. Creamy with some alcohol burn.
Palate is surprisingly thin but bolstered by the oak.
It's good but really needs to age and let it all balance and show its true potential.

Sporo ciała, gładka i przyjemna faktura, wysycenie niskie. Ona zdecydowanie tu dominuje.

Strong oak notes, more dark fruits (plums, dates, raisin) than choco or roast, very intense, pitch black with a good brown head, full body, quite thick, average carbonation, taste is similar with a strong booziness (maybe too much)...but afterall a good irs.

Subtle aroma of plums drown in chocolate, vanilla, oak, raisins. Taste is on the dry side with roasted notes, chocolate liquor. Quite alcoholic, especially in the aftertaste.
