Barrel-aged version of Port Brewing Santas Little Helper.
2009 will be the inaugural release of this winter time classic. After brewing the 2008 batch of Santa’s we thought “wonder what this would taste like aged in a bourbon barrel?”
2015 states 12% on label. Previous batches at 10% abv

Bomber bought through Brill & Co. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a frothy pale mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, high quality dark chocolate, resinous wood, dark roast coffee, cedar, roasted coconut, raisins, alcohol, prunes and hints of Christmas fruit cake with brandy, Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut, resinous wood, cedar, raisins, prunes, alcohol and hints of sweet liquorice candy. Mouthfeel is round, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. finish is sweet and slightly bitter with roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, coconut and hints of raisins and prunes. Decadently barrel aged and very sweet but I like it.

On bottle @Ølfred - Aarhus Streetfood. Pours black with no foam. The carbonation is low, scent of wine and bourbon. A bit alcoholic. The taste has notes of dark chocolate and coffee. It has a creamy and round texture.

Bottle 2011. Pours black with a medium sized beige head. Aroma is hard roasted malts, caramel. bourbon, soy and coffee. Taste is medium+ bitter and medium sweet. Body is near full, texture is quite oily, carbonation is soft. Finishes roasted, warming, dry and bitter with lingering bourbon.

Taster, Salt Horse. Pours copper, vey little head. There us bourbon on the aroma, but not overpowering, also raisins, some roast. Really well balanced, dark malt roastiness with bourbon notes and booziness in the back. So smooth. Lovely.

Jet black pour with a very thin, wispy head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, hint of chocolate and bit of oxidation, slight stale cardboard. Full bodied. Lots of bourbon character in the taste as well as chocolate. A hint of booze on the finish, bourbon notes and some vanilla. Not a ton of oak in the taste. Lace present. Dry finish.

Draft. Rich aroma of chocolate and roasty malts. Flavor is wonderfully smooth, full of chocolate, spice and maybe even some vanilla. Hides its alcohol. Drank 2015 version.

Piana drobna powoli opada zdobiąc szkło. Kolor czarny. Aromat dębina wanilia, kokos, dominacja beczki. Smak mocno palony, czekolada, kawa, cukierki kukułki z efektem lekkiego szczypania alkoholu, wyraźna nie dominująca beczka w postaci wanilii i dębiny. Zauważalne chmielenie i goryczka, pije sie lekko po ogrzaniu alkohol wchodzi w nuty mniej szlachetne, mimo wszystko jest Bardzo Dobrze.
