Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, milk and dark chocolate, licorice, pepper, wood, dark berry. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily / creamy, carbonation is soft. UPDATED: FEB 22, 2010 Blind tasting at sk8vikings porter / stout tasting, beer no 26. Pours dark brown almost black, with a brown rim head. Roasted malt flavour. 75 cL bottle, 2005. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malty, light wooden note. Sweet, dark caramelish, toffee and breadish. Dry roasted malt base. Mild liqourice to smoke note. Smooth lingering and dark roasted malty flavoured into the finish. Smooth.8-4-8-4-16=4.0

Draught @ Port Brewing, San Marcos. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Sweet malty chocolate aroma with some hoppy hints. Sweet malty chocolate and coffee flavor with some hoppy notes. , Helsinki. Close to pitch black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head, some lace. Aroma is coffee, some caramel malts and also some licorice. Flavour is coffee, mild roasted notes as well as some slight toffeeish and licoricelike notes. Wellbalanced and quite nice. Alcohol isn’t showing off all too much.

2006 bottle. Opaque black stout. Soft palate. Rich creamy dark malt, just a little roastiness. Some lactose sweetness and a little well balanced hop counterbalance. Dry finish, more lactose sweetness and a trace of coffee in the aftertaste. Decent.

Lots of mellow bourbon, little alcohol heat in thee finish. Good dark malts and dark chocolate. Surprisingly simple beer.
