Bottle. Pours a clear brown body with a small wispy brown head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is very chocolaty with some roast, coffee, caramel, and slightly citrusy hops. The flavor is a little thin though, not a whole lot of chocolate malt showing thru, it’s more of a bland and slightly weak roasted malt flavor. Minimal hoppiness, just enough to help balance out the sweetness some. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, a below average effort for the style. brownaler (698) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 17, 2015
Roasted chocolate aroma. Bold and robust coffee front with a smooth finish. rayaron (1927) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - SEP 12, 2015
Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Shmupi. 7.5% abv. Deep brown with small brownish head. The aroma is sweet and salty, notes of salted snack, soy sauce and carob. Sweet flavor with notes of soy sauce, salted snack, carob and dark chocolate, spicy with light bitterness, dry. Medium to full-bodied. Very good. DSG (15119) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - SEP 11, 2015
Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Shmupi. Dark brown to black with a small tan beige head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, caramel, some nuts, a fruity note. Sweetish flavor with chocolate, nuts, roast, caramel, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied, rounded. Good stuff. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Bottle from Chevy Chase Super Market. Dark, dark brown body with thin mocha head. Nose is sweet, raisins, coffee, chocolate. Taste is also of malts, coffee and chocolate. Quite a smooth, creamy texture. Slight dark chocolate kick in the end. Pretty good.

[ As Port City Porter ].
Clear dark black - red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, spicy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, malt - spicy bitter, roasted, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat.
Bottle, 12oz. A very dark brown beer, almost clear it seems, and with a small beige head on top. The aorma is quite coffee-dominated, but there’s also a good dash of cocoa powder. Some roasted malts and coffee-grit hints too. It’s medium bodied, semi-sweet and softly carbonated, with roasted malts, cocoa, coffee and some dark chocolate. Lasting roasted finish. A bit harsh this one, too much coffee grit, but it’s far from bad. 150619 Meilby (11639) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 19, 2015

Pours a deep dark brown color with a sweet nut chocolate aroma. Taste is similar, with a mild coffee, and a sweet malt flavor. A little nut and roast aftertaste. A very enjoyable porter! OnTheTrail (560) - Virginia, USA - MAY 22, 2015
