Our robust Porter shows bittersweet flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. It has very complex malt character enhanced by yeast fruitiness.

Pours dark brown with tan head. Roasted malt aroma with vanilla and coffee. Flavor starts roasted malt with sweet caramel, molasses, and vanilla. Some cocoa flavors in finish and finishing coffee. Really nice, roasty, flavorful porter.

Bottle from a trade. pour is almost black with a small, light tan head, garnet highlights. Aroma is chocolate with a light grapey note. Taste is milk chocolate with some bitterness coming though eventually. Slightly sticky on the lips. Fairly solid beer. Just a hint of alcohol noted.

"Bittersweet and pretty robust in flavor and feel. Doesn’t really follow the porter style to a tee, but it don’t matter. Rich chocolate, coffee (slight) and decent balance. Nice brew. Thanks Thomas."

Gravity at GBBF 2014. Poured black, with a dense beige head. Aroma of stem ginger, biscuits and coffee. Tart, earthy flavours, with lots of candied peal. Finish was sharp bitterness, some burnt malt and gingerbread.

Benzai (15611) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 19, 2014
Sampled @ GBBF day 3. Very dark brown to black color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, a lot of herbs or spices, lightly roast, lots of spices. Medium body and carbonation. Not my thing at all.

evergreen0199 (3369) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2014
Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2014, Olympia, London. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, slightly roasty, malty, chocolate, slight bitterness.

mR_fr0g (12126) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2014
Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. With ginger and orange peel. Nose is big candied ginger preserve, spicy and fresh bit not much else. Opaque dark brown coloured pour wiry a halo of cream head head. Flavour is big ginger, spicy orange tang and dark choc, ginger dominates the flavour. Palate is medium full with highish carbonation. Too much ginger.
