Bottle from a trade. pour is almost black with a small, light tan head, garnet highlights. Aroma is chocolate with a light grapey note. Taste is milk chocolate with some bitterness coming though eventually. Slightly sticky on the lips. Fairly solid beer. Just a hint of alcohol noted.

"Bittersweet and pretty robust in flavor and feel. Doesn’t really follow the porter style to a tee, but it don’t matter. Rich chocolate, coffee (slight) and decent balance. Nice brew. Thanks Thomas."

Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. With ginger and orange peel. Nose is big candied ginger preserve, spicy and fresh bit not much else. Opaque dark brown coloured pour wiry a halo of cream head head. Flavour is big ginger, spicy orange tang and dark choc, ginger dominates the flavour. Palate is medium full with highish carbonation. Too much ginger.
