(US 2012 backlogged in abstinentia) Draft pint @Flying Fish Restaurant, Alexandria VA 11/09/2012. Pretty headstrong porter with some unusual tangential flavour that taste willed: smooth medium full body transporting dry fruit marmelade flavours on top of a milk chocolate and cocoa stream, punctuated by refreshing hop tingles. Quick exit. Tasty, unexpected dessert. To be revisited /bottled. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 27, 2014
Pours near black with an espresso head. Aroma is massive chocolate brownie and coffee. Taste is semi sweet with some roast. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Pretty good stuff! solidfunk (8838) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAR 20, 2014
Surprisingly good. Very rich and robust roast malt aroma. Pungent and thick. Some light booze and caramel with a bite of bitter dark chocolate. Well balanced. Thick and rich on palate. Medium bitter finish. Bottle at Capital Lounge. AdamT (268) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 16, 2014
12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Black pour with mostly lasting frothy 1/4" thick tan head. Excellent lacing. Strong milk chocolate aroma, some coffee. Strong coffee and chocolate taste up front with a short medium chocolate and malt finish. Medium body, watery texture. Solid porter. Dfonorow (2216) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 15, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown with a small tan head. Semi-sweet chocolate, coffee, slight dark fruit, roasted malts. Medium bodied, light carbonation.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Virginia Beach, VA. Dark brown cola-like pour with a frothy khaki head. The rich chocolate aroma can easily be detected from several feet away. Really nice flavor of dark, yet creamy, chocolate, light espresso, and faint floral hops. The finish is rich but not too bitter. This is a damn good porter! davey101 (751) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 23, 2014
12 oz bottle into a tulip. Thanks Max! Pours a deep black with a finger of khaki foam that fades into thin edging. Nose is rather smokey with notes of chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Taste is initially smoked malts but it then transitions into sweet chocolate and bitter coffee beans. Smooth and robust. Medium bodied and does a great job hiding the abv. A really solid no-frills porter. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JAN 27, 2014
Growler fill from Aw Shucks. Poured a black brown, slight head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Full mouthfeel, fairly big, a bit more roast than expected, bordering on stout territory. Some faint fruitiness on the finish, undefined, but complementary of the malt show. Enjoyable brew, felt like I hadn’t had a beer like this in a long time. Liked this more than the score would indicate I think. ads135 (4587) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 11, 2014
This was a pleasant, quietly powerful porter. Rich and chocolatey with ample coffee notes. k0mpsa (2920) - Tuusula, FINLAND - JAN 7, 2014
Tap. Black color, brown head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, some sweet fruits. Nicely balanced, coffee, roasty and some hops.
