One of the best Porters I have had - tried it at the Capital Ale House in Richmond, VA - also highly recommend going there ermahgang (6) - Virginia, USA - MAR 11, 2013 does not count
One of my all time favorites. If you like porters this is a must to put on your ’to try’ list. njnut (486) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 16, 2014
Pored at brewery, deep brown with white head. Aroma was coffee and chocolate as was taste, roasted malts in finish. Alcohol hidden but warming in finish. OnTheTrail (544) - Virginia, USA - MAY 22, 2015
from non existent notes One of my favorite porters, a beer I enjoy very much, from my favorite local brewery.

I have this on tap at the brewery every week. It’s hard to believe that no adjuncts are used in crafting this full-bodied, smooth, coffee forward Porter. Delicious and a must-have in the Northern Virginia/DC area.

Poured into a snifter.
3.5 A: Black color. One finger of frothy tan head. Retention is below average, but a short ring of lacing is left nonetheless.
4.5 S: Wow is this powerful. Unyieldingly grainy with equally potent chocolate. Toasty after that. Mild roastiness. Coffee with cream. I love the nose on this. It’s both bold and well integrated.
4.5 T: Taste is just as impressive. Again a HUGE graininess. This is certainly the grainiest porter I’ve ever had and I love it. Lots of chocolate with coffee with cream underneath. Again just a mild roastiness, but it works so well. Sweet, hearty neutral maltiness. Just so good. Love this.
5.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Both creamy and silky smooth. Awesome here.
5.0 D: This is one of those beers that you need to buy lots of random beers to find a hidden gem. This is a hidden gem. I could drink this all damn night. I think SteveFinny sent me this, which means I’m even more indebted to him than I already am. This is a killer beer. Get it, drink it, love it.

Molasses, brown sugar, anise, prune, fig, nutty. Medium bodied, good sweet/bitterness balance. Outstanding porter. robgibbens (432) - Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - MAR 9, 2012
Pours black with a short light head. Cocoa and coffee aromas. Taste is bitter but there is a subtle sweetness that comes through after that initial bitterness. Finishes dry with a coffeeish aftertaste.
