We have too many Beer snobs here. I was tired of paying too much for an everyday drinker that was refreshing and safe for my head. Much better than your standard choices at the supermarket, most ladies will love this light and mild beer as I did. If you are tired of the micro brews and the heavy hoppy, malties but want something much better than Coors and Budweiser-this is it TheBeerCollector (633) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Pours clear golden with a frothy white head that lingers briefly. aroma is a little funky but not terrible. Palate is smooth and oily with brisk carbonation. Flavor is somewhat bland but refreshing. nike (966) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 10, 2012
24oz can for $1., typical cheap tasting grass cutting brew. Worth the price, I’ll consider buying a case for my cheap beer in the fridge, Tmoney99 (15119) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 31, 2011
24 oz. Can from Kroger - Mt. Carmel. Poured clear pale color with a medium to large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet grainy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with another average entry beer.

Purchased from the Westwood Kroger’s in Cincinnati, Ohio - Okee dokee, this is your basic midwest lawnmower beer, and a sub-average one at that! It pours a highly effervescent golden brew with a tall white head, and the aroma of soap. Tastewise, it doesn’t suck as much as I expected, but it really doesn’t have any real body and originality to the flavor.

Picked up a single 12-oz aluminum can during ABA Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ohio. Pours a clear golden straw colored lager with a rocky white head that has some nice retention that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some nice lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, some corn, light grassy hops and some more fruity presence than the lighter version. Taste is light bodied, some light tropical fruit, golden grain malt with corn. Finish is a touch sweeter than the light version, some sweet creamed corn, fruit then a crisp, clean cut and some light apple aftertaste. ronaldtheriot (2020) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - AUG 9, 2014
Port Republic Lager Beer has a thick, white head, a clear, bubbly straw appearance, and some slight lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, grainy, stereotypical lager, and the flavor is the same, with a shade of hop bitterness to round it out. Mouthfeel is light and watery, with an unfortunate faint chalky under-taste. Port Republic Lager Beer finishes crisp and refreshing. it pours a clear shade of very pale yellow and is topped off by a fizzy white head. why i decided to pour it into a glass is still puzzling me. anyway, the foam doesn’t last long and fades quickly to nothing but a film.
the nose has a touch of the ’skunky’ character i was hoping for but it is more of a secondary aroma. out front are notes of flowers, grass, pale grain and a distinct sake-like rice smell. that is pretty much it... non offensive. rather mild.
the taste is not surprisingly more of the same though there seems to be more grain than adjunct-y rice. it is crisp and a bit thin but otherwise quite pleasantly drinkable.
if you’re a budweiser fan and this is the only thing around you won’t hate it. 5/3/5/3/12/2.8 geologyguy (1687) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - SEP 20, 2015
Good light malt smell, pale golden appearance clear and crisp, taste is like a generic beer...a tad malty and very light hops, smooth and crisp but nothing of note
