22 ounce bottle courtesy of scrizzz, in Mystery Swap 4.0 so long ago. Opened 10/13/10. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a medium frothy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee, berries and peppery hop notes. The taste is toffee, caramel and bitter herbal hops. The bitterness mellows a bit as the beer hits room temp, but its still rubbing me the wrong way. Decent barleywine, just not my thing. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 4, 2010
Served on tap at the brewery. The appearance is a clear golden to light copper hue with a thin white head. The nose is full of caramelzation, malts, and a nice earthy hop. The flavors are sweet with caramel, toffee, and toasted malts. The mouth is medium to full bodied, the sweetness does well at not becoming cloying. Overall a decent above average barley wine. mcberko (19871) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2010
22 oz. bottle, pours orange amber with a white head. Aroma of caramel / toffee, dried dark fruits and molasses. Flavour of treacle / toffee, sweet dark /dried fruits and a sticky finish. Rich and complex - delicious. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Dark brown pour, minimal head on it. Not too complex as barley wine goes... sweet brown sugar, vanilla, leafy hops, moderate fruitiness. Warm alcohol finish. Not terrible, but it didn’t stand out much amongst barley wines. douglas88 (9797) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 28, 2010
22 ounce bottle acquired in a trade. Pours a dark copper color with a small white head. The aroma is nice; sweet strawberries and other fruits, rich caramel. A sweet and very dry BW; rich caramel, heat from the alcohol, dark fruits, sweet rich malts. Good.

Bomber poured a hazy tarnished copper with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of prune, molasses, fig, carmel, toffee and sherry. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of carmel, molasses, toffee, fig, dates and sherry with a smooth warming lingering fruity malty finish. travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 11, 2010
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye11. The smell is malts, caramel, hops, fruits, sweet, and alcohol. The taste is sweet, caramel, fruits, caramel, more fruits, toffee, and nice. The look is cloudy, amber in color, and has a light head. DietPepsican (1589) - @ $13.99, Iowa, USA - APR 20, 2010
classic amber pour from a barley wine, nice off white soapy head. Flavor is full of toffee, caramel, and just a touch of hops. Flavor follows through. Lots of nice caramel and toffee in this one. Definitely hits the english side of things, but I’m not sure how old this bottle is. A touch of veggies gets in the way of the experience, but I only noticed it at the end. Bold finish, a mild sweetness helps balance everything out without being cloying. raphael (1303) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 18, 2010
caramel malt and spicy hops make me sneeze. second day of a surprised cold (just as the temp nears 70), in a way surprised I can smell that much, hops more assertive in the flavor, citrus mostly, still some caramel and alcohol, quickly warming. the flavors don’t quite blend but no one goes too far.
