Noticed right off that there is a *ton* of sediment in this bottle. Pours an extremely light honey color with a tiny head that disappears quickly. Good, balanced aroma of predominantly hops, but malts as well - sweet and mild. Definitely not a big IPA, but a great flavor nonetheless. Goes down extremely smooth if not a little watery, great mouthfeel - not much carbonation. Tastes a bit like a good cask conditioned IPA on draft. Notes of hops, honey, light and sweet malts, grapefruit and apricot. Not something that wows me, but entirely enjoyable. JMFG (1587) - Florida, USA - APR 19, 2008
Courtesy Oakes. Clear golden color with a very thin white head. Floral perfumy hop aroma, some wet grain notes. Lightly carbonated. Grainy taste, strong earthy hops comes on early and stay through the finish. Mildly peppery, but still a smooth-drinking IPA. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - APR 15, 2008
Bottle: Lightly hazy blond color with a puffy white head, nice lacing and a good looking carbonation level for an IPA. The nose is super fresh and hoppy, lots of cascade and citrusy pine notes. Some grapefruit and small lime notes. The flavor is thinner, mostly the dry hops talking, which I like, with some light pale malt. The finish is thin with only a reminder of how much I liked the nose. A nose front beer, everything else is just going through the motions until the next sniff. Amazing though from where this comes from. I was expecting washington flavor and instead I get a heaping spoonful of San Diego Pale Ale. Yummy! hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 9, 2008
22oz bottle acquire in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a medium to deeper and hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Lots of small floaters. Aromas of citrus, pine, and apricots. Tastes of citrus, pine, and fruity. Medium bitter with a lighter sweet fruity balance. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 8, 2008
Bottle, Merritt Island Throwdown. Warm honeyed gold color with white frosty lacing. Melony, fruity: guava, mango mainly in the nose. Flavors are mellow and actually vanish quite fast finishing thin and therefore super-quaffable.

Courtesy Oakes. POurs a fairly clear light gold wth a small white head. Smells of juicy citrus hops, a little grapefruit, with some balancing malt. The flavor has some good balance to it as well, alot of hop flavor, some caramel, grapefruit citrus, and some pine as well. Pretty good IPA. Wasnt lacking in flavor, but wsnt overly hoppy either. Pretty good, maybe a touch underrated in my opinion. hopscotch (11048) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 3, 2008
Bottle... GIABMISGFAB... Cloudy golden ale with a small, fat bubbled, white head. The aroma is of fresh lupulin with pale grains and black tea. Full-bodied and coarse with lively carbonation. Well-balanced. Sweet malts and lots of residual sugar are countered by juicy, astringent hops. Bone-dry finish. Thanks to Beershine and Oakes for bringing this beer for us to try! exadore (92) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 1, 2008
Bottle. Poured a golden colour with a two finger creamy white head, good lacing. Nose is extremely hoppy and with a bit of citrus. Medium to light in body, with some interesting floaties in it, almost hazy. Probably a bad bottle, but a drinkable beer, regardless. There are better IPAs out there, and I might have to revisit this on again later. dchmela (3062) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2008
Merritt Island Throwdown ’08: Bottle, courtesy Beershine/Oakes. Pours golden with a thin white head. Big grapefruit pine grass aroma. Taste is bitter hop and citrus. Finishes with a little bit of a hop bitterness. gunhaver (1030) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2008 Merritt Island Throwdown ’08: Bottle, courtesy Beershine/Oakes. Pours a dark golden amber, with fizzy lacing, and a nice wet head. Grapefruit and typical array of hops spatter the nose, with vanilla and citrus. Hoppy flavor, kind thick. Grapefruit and citrus, of course. Balanced; not a real hop monster. Drinkable and refreshing.
