Tap @ Brouwer’s for Big Wood ’11. Opaque black pour with a persistent, short beige head leaving moderate lace. Nose is booze and chocolate. Heavy body, with light, creamy bubbles (on nitro). Chocolate, molasses, licorice and bourbon. Finish is long and aperitif-like. Like creamy chocolate milk with some vanilla and bourbon. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Big bourbon aroma, dark roasted malts, dark bittersweet chcoolate and earth. Pours black, thin non lasting head. The flavor is a big bit of bourbon on top of a strong imperial stout. Go figure. Roasted malts, dark bittersweet chocolate, and vanilla/brown sugar. Boozy and strong but not bad by any means. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JUN 14, 2011

Dark Brown in color, with a thin tan head. Nice Bourbon aroma and flavor. Dark rich malts coffee and chocolate flavors abound. This is one tasty brew.
On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours black with a tan head. Deep, rich aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, a little wood and subtle bourbon. Flavour begins with roasted malt, mocha / espresso, caramel, and finishes with oak, bourbon and oatmeal. Very warming, silky texture. Delicious.
